AADD (Automotive Attention Deficit Disorder)
Before I had the CLK Black Series, I lusted after all of them, M's, AMG's, 911's in all their TT and GT? glory, Aston's and Bentley GT's, and tried some of them, but driving the Black Series on a daily basis has left me somewhat jaded toward many of the erstwhile super cars. I'm not mocking the other truly great cars of today, but the Black Series does so many things well that a trade off is hard to reconcile.
However, the 599 in whatever trim level easily holds my attention, desire and dare I say ... fantasy?

Thanks for posting! Great video! You have to hand it to those Germans, that's what a real racetrack should look like 
.......makes those modern tracks pale in comparison. There are so many great public roads in Europe, especially through Austria and Italy, and I really miss living there..........my Black Series would have already 50K miles on it. Every year when I visit my parents, I really look forward to those roads..........one corner after another, pure bliss!

CLK AMG BLACK SERIES (among other German things)
599 is a great car . The build quality was leaps and bounds above what i expected .
Very very fast , great noise and handling but did not feel as biddable as the Black Series and no where near as scalpel sharp as a gt3 rs . Also something didnt do it for me in the looks dept .
It was undoubtedly a great gt car ( vastly superior to the Conti gt / cl 65 / am dbs etc etc mind you ) but for some reason I'm finding very hard to put my finger on , it didn't make me yearn for it when I woke in the morning . There was just something missing .
Maybe the GTO version will address this ? But I doubt it , Im afraid I see this as a last ditch attempt to sell some remaining chassis and combine it with some of the technology of the upcoming 599 replacement .
Fyi the Enzo was apparently designed to crumple and come apart in a serious impact ( somehow protecting the driver zone apparently ).

Here is the thing with the FXX. Although Ferrari selects you to buy the car, you then buy the car you are only allowed to drive it on race tracks. The car will remain with ferrari all its life and when you want to drive it you schedule the event with ferrari who arrive with the car on trailer and a team of mechanics.
Seems like a lot of hassle just to go for a spin.

This isn't necessarily related to the 599 but I'm in the same boat. The CLK63BS was my cure for AADD. Before this car I would stay current on all of my supercars, memorize specifications and read reviews all day, stay current on the latest rumors, etc. but I didn't even know about the 599 until I happened to catch it on Top Gear. I wouldn't dare call any car perfect but the black has been the perfect car for me. It's going to be sad letting her go. C'est la vie
