Hey guys I just purchased my Black series. I have a few questions. It was a finance repo and I dont have any books but it has been kept in immaculate condition. Do you think these cars will go up in value in the future? Also Im enquiring on purchasing books through Mercedes but the parts guys dont know which ones suit the car! argh so annoying. Can someone please take a pic for me with all the books and the pouch that they came in? I think it was a black zip up pouch and does the instruction manual have a black series at the front of it on the cover? AND WHEN WILL WE BE GETTING THROTTLE BLIP!!!!! cheers guys!

If you just want the manuals for reference, then I can email them to you in PDF if you PM me your email address. Maybe the part number is on there. I have not tried to order them through the dealer, so not sure what you need to tell them. I saw one on Ebay once for $500 and said forget that, I just got the PDF for free.

Go up in value? Not sure Im an expert on that, but I cant see how they can lose any more value! Hopefully they will at least stay the same... the value you will get from that is use of a badass car for a certain time period, and the ability to resell the car for the same price later... which you can't say for 99% of the cars out there today!

Whats a throttle blip?

Thanks for your response, I PM'd you. Any figures on how many were built worldwide? I know Aus has only 32 and USA 350

Forget about selling it for more than you paid, that's just not healthy.
Forget about throttle blipping, AMG says it ain't gonna' happen.

Despite those 2 disappointments, you should be able to exact a great deal of pleasure out of the car! Enjoy it!

Sorry for the lousy pics! I spent the photography class money on beer.

Just emailed you the 3 manuals I have, with part numbers on them if u wanna order hard copies from MB.

From what I read on this forum, 500 were made for the world. Supposedly 367 ended up in the US and a handful have been totalled already.

The rev matched throttle blips on downshift is part of the SpeedShift PLUS software that, IIRC, came out on the 2009 AMG's. Since the BS was not certified with this software for the USA, AMG has said that it would be way too expensive to have the cars retrofitted and re-certified, thus, we will not be getting it....from the factory at least. I am in talks with 3rd party tuners who might be able to make this happen...If and when this does happen, I will for sure bring it to light here.
Congrats and enjoy the new car !!!

Mine does it when I crank it down for the track. Street settings, no noise.
Lat time I had the problem, they just replaced the strut.

damn, I took it in for warranty and they say its perfectly normal... it only does it sometimes, like 4 times in a hour+ worth of driving each time for a split second... usually on a take off on cold mornings...

Mine does it over speed bumps, in the hot or cold.

If it's that reproducible, they should be happy to replace them, it's probably 6 or 8 hours labor charged to MB.

Mine has started to do it all the time now and it's really annoying, hot...cold, it doesn't matter. And it for SURE was not happening when I bought the car. In my mind, if it wasn't that way upon delivery, it needs to be fixed. Hopefully the dealer will take care of it when I take it in next time.
Mine only happens when turning and hitting opposite lock when trying to park. Is this the same thing and needs a strut replaced ??

I had this problem, its coming from the rear axel. Have them torque it. Ill see if i can find the other minor stuff they did too. Took them nearly 6 hours to figure it out.

If I understand this correctly, no parts were exchanged but components on the rear suspension/axel had to be torqued because they came loose?

This is not what is happening on my car...it's for SURE coming from the steering or a related component.

Mine did that only in the cold (below 40F) and the dealer wrote some sort of a work around on how to fix it and it was definitely front of the car. They claim to have submitted it to MBUSA as a stroke of their own genius for system wide distribution. IDK

The noises mentioned here are 2 separate issues for me, each different and distinct to the front (your noise) and the rear (360's) axles. I've had them both and I can't say they impact performance but they are sure as heck annoying.
