Post RENNtech's Carbon Fiber Upgrades For CLK63 Black Series

Not sure if this has been posted before or not? I did a few searches and couldn't find it. This is a line of carbon fiber upgrades almost exclusively for the CLK63 Black Series.... I think it looks pretty good, what do you guys think?

Until only recently, RENNtech has offered a line of proprietary, one-of-a-kind carbon fiber aerodynamic upgrades for the CLK Black Series to a small number of exclusive clientele; one of the first being Indy Car driver Tony Kanaan. We recently finished yet another complete package installation and are proud to announce them to market due to the increased interest and popularity of these products.

Our CLK 63 Black Series carbon aero upgrades include our proprietary full carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, DTM rear wing, Carbon air box with vacuum chamber and front carbon brake air ducts. All of our components are manufactured in high quality, full carbon fiber available in either matte or gloss finish to suit individual desires.

These components are the result of countless hours of design and testing by our in house design and engineering staff to integrate seamlessly within the original body work and offer significant improvements in vehicle performance and handling.

Carbon Front Splitter: Our front lip spoiler offers aggressive front end styling and increased down force for improved handling. Integrated into the flat panel underbody tray are functional channels which allow cooling air to be directed to the front brakes to significantly increase brake cooling and reduce heat fade and pad wear.
Price $2450

Carbon Front Brake Air Ducts: Our front brake air ducts were designed in conjunction with our front splitter to dramatically increase cooling air flow to the front brakes reducing brake fade and pad wear under the most extreme driving conditions. These bolt on components require no modification to the brake heat shield and are crafted in full carbon fiber.
Price $1250

63 Carbon Air box: Our redesigned full carbon air box incorporates a restyled carbon vacuum chamber box. By optimizing the path and increasing the volume of incoming airflow, our carbon air box is able to offer gains up to 10hp, in addition to serving as an attractive under hood showpiece.
Price $2795

Carbon Rear diffuser: Our rear diffuser is the companion component to the front splitter and functions to decrease drag and increase down force by improving the underbody airflow and its transition to ambient air. As with the front splitter, our diffuser is the result of countless hours of design and testing, but isn’t just for looks. Integrated into the true double decker rear diffuser are air channels to dramatically reduce turbulent underbody air as well as a dedicated channel to direct air to the rear differential oil cooler, thus decreasing thermal stress on drive line components and allow for significantly cooler operating temperatures
Price $3250

Carbon DTM Adjustable Rear Wing:
Offering aggressive styling and functional performance; our fully adjustable DTM style rear wing is designed to work in conjunction with the OEM lip spoiler and improves rear down force and stability at higher speeds.
Price $3350

Front & Rear Adjustable Camber Bushings: Our proprietary rear suspension bushings allow drivers to adjust their car's handling for different tracks and styles of driving, ensuring that the car's tires maintain maximum grip for proper alignment, better braking, and improved cornering.
Price Front $1250 Rear $945

I think everything except for the rear wing are awesome. But, I'm sure that wing is very functional on track. It seems like every piece they offer is made for the track and not so much for show....which I really like. The prices however, are in line with everything they have every offered...way overpriced IMO.

EDIT - I wonder how much (if any) time was spent developing these aero products in the windtunnel ?? Also, they seem a bit late to the game in releasing these products...

I know.... RENNtech seems to come into the market a little later than others but that's usually because they were spending time on another product line for a different model. I will say this though.... they are very meticulous about the quality of their products and about R&D (sometimes painfully so)

I'm glad the CLK63 BS is finally getting some RENNtech love though....

The front and rear camber bushings are nice to have, we can always use more camber I know EVO was working on some but not sure if it's still in progress.

And yes the price is quite steep.

Lota eye candy for the track junkie. The brake ducts look like the most worthy upgrade unless you have to run the front spoiler which is a curb catcher. Camber adjust at the rear is also a must have.
No numbers on down force for wing or rear diffuser, which I find disappointing. Their stuff looks functional and high quality and price wise is in line with some of the stuff I've destroyed.

I saw and held the brake ducts last year at the RENNtech shop while in town for the Pro Bowl. Their cooling ducts weight nothing are well made like all their products.

I was thinking the same thing, whether the brake ducts are as effective without the front splitter. I'd like the brake ducts, but a front splitter won't work with my ride height and where I live .... don't want to spend that kind of money on a hair cut

The camber bushings I'm most interested in. I'll call Renntech and ask what the range of adjustment is.

Sasha,
Evosport was working on adjustable camber arrms, don't know if they reached production. Keep us advised. You should have enough time to get them for our track day.

I was talking to Simon (EVOsport) about the adjustable camber arms some time ago. As far as I remember they produced some, but they were still stress testing them and might ran into some problem as they were made out of aluminum. It seems Renntech uses the stock arms and makes the bushing adjustable. Like I said, it depends on the range of what camber can be dialed in and whether the bushings are now solid, which will improve handling at the track, but might be noisy for daily use.

LOL, I'll be the guinea pig .... just not sure if this will happen before our track day

Maybe it's just that my eyes suck, but that rear diffuser looks to be VERY close to the exhaust?

I think it's just the angle of the picture. They're most likely on different planes.

I am also very interested in the front brake ducts, although without the front splitter. Hope they work well without it as I'd like the brakes to keep functioning longer without fade and the front rotors to stay silver. Price seems a bit high though.

It was very close, but didn't melt or anything as far as I remember.

They do. Dustin Hanna was the engineer on those. He's a super-brain.

Zero. They don't have one.

HOWEVER, that doesn't mean they don't work.

Who is he? Is he a RENNtech employee? Are you saying he designed the whole thing himself?

They were not really late per say.... my understanding is that back in 2008 those products were designed as a "custom project" for very few customers. Now, those parts are going into mainstream production and will be available for who ever wants them.

They were a limited edition. Limited to how many they could sell.
