Matte Black Wheels ?

What do you guys think ? Was thinking of doing this, but I can't decide which looks better.

i personally like matte wheels, although on my car i did a satin, which isnt as harsh as a matte, a little more sheen but still the same look. i think your car would look sick with black wheels!!! if you want better pics, ask simon or brad, they took some pics in the sun(full car) its also at the shop as we speak.

Matt

I have a full set of the HRE's in Matt black (P40) that were taken off my car prior to trading it in if you decide to go that way.

Thanks for the comments and photos. I think it looks great on a black car...but on silver I think it looks a bit "boy racer"...not sure yet, I can't decide. I agree though, the satin finish looks better than matte. Were yours painted?

Whilst I think the black finish looks fine on a black BS, the OEM wheel looks much better in its original colour on an Iridium BS. IMHO of course! lol

My preference is for the polished wheels.

But, as a friend of mine once said, "There's no accounting for taste."

Your end decision should be whatever you like, not what someone else likes.

IMO, polished look on silver looks best...unless you black out the grill, tailpipes, and tint the windows. I think that look would be more balanced than just having matte rims and that was it.

I have posted b4 but I agree the black out treatment looks the best on a black car.

LZH e-mail me at JP9855@aol.com. I'd like to send you a pic of a silver one my tuner did for his customer. You may like it. He painted the inserts black inside the wheel.

I for one will powdercoat the wheels black as soon as they start corroding (which sooner or later seems to happen).

+1 on the satin, not matte. I have gloss black but only because I am doing a black and chrome theme on my with CLK.
