Just got my issue of European Car--guess what's on the cover?

Here's a copy of the article in the May issue of EC--I love this magazine.
For those of you who don't get it, you should, but here's a great article.
I posted close ups of the text portion so you can read everything clearly--I hope you enjoy the read

Here's the text portion:

Is the article saying the power was increased to 630 wheel hp or was it supposed to be to the crank ??? Here is a quote from the article:

The Evosport CLK63 spun the dyno wheel to an impressive 630 hp and 589 lb-ft of twist.
Also, the article mentions that the car was equipped with HRE CF43 carbon fiber wheel? I've been very interested in that wheel for a while but I was told that HRE discontinued it when Dymag went out of business a couple of years ago.... I wonder if this was an older project?

From the magazine's quote it sounds like wheel hp. Plus not too many ppl has a true engine dyno laying around

black-clk500, thanks for scanning it and posting it! Really nice pics and spec.

Mmmm....Vorsteiner CF hood and EVO rear control arms....can't wait for those to become officially available.

I assume they are talking crank hp figures. The only way its making 630rwhp is with a 150 shot of nitrous. Mine was making 508rwhp with those mods plus a race fuel tune, cat delete and Dymags. Mine made about 618rwhp with a 100 shot.

Mine ran 12.03 @ 118 and change and a couple other guys went high 11's with stockers so I don't see a problem with the statement.

I know they are capable of hi 11's in the right conditions..I witnessed Jim's car(MACHC5)run the very first stock 11 sec 1/4mi. a few yrs back at Atco

Dependant on the amount of wheelspin and 60ft times a 121 mph 11.9-12.1 is a feasable trap speed, I'll agree with you that it's unlikely and that 117-119mph is more realistic but 121 mph trap it is feasable.

I remember Jim's 11 sec run when it was posted, I was very impressed. I was never able to break into the 11's in stock trim, you east coast guys get all the good tracks and conditions seems there are a lot of records set at Atco and MIR.

BTW is this Rob?

Yes,if you take into account some wheelspin I guess it *could* be possible although highly unlikely, that being said;trapping 121 with wheelspin AND running an 11.9 in the same pass is even more unlikely

Who's Rob?
