Trade Your BS for a New Porsche 997 TT?
Would you trade your low mileage (10K) Iridium Silver BS for a new Porsche 997 TT? Let me explain. I have a line on one of the last 997's to be imported to the US before the introduction of the new, larger 991. The silver coupe I'm interested in has a June production date and comes equipped with auto trans (a requirement), NAV, chrono and many other options. Given I don't drive/use my BS very much, is a Porsche 997 TT a good replacement option? I would really like to hear from former 997 owners. Thanks.

The BS is a much more hardcore/unique car than the TT. If you're more interested in a nice, fast daily driver, the TT would be a much better choice than the BS. If you're buying the TT as a weekend car anyways, than IMHO it's not worth the trade.
Best option: buy the TT, keep the BS

This type of decision is emotional, not practical. If you don't love the BS, the question is , what do you want more?
I don't own a 997 tt (do own a 996tt X50) but have driven every iteration of the 997tt. The new tt's are fast and civilized, but not raw or unique. The BS is a track car that can be street driven, while the 997 tt is a civilized road car that can be driven fast. If you already have an AMG car, you probably won't drive the Porsche much either.
But, whomever gets your BS will be delighted. AS

I was trying to think of a rational reason without knocking the Porsche. Ok, you can't get golf clubs in the 997tt.

The Porsche is an amazing vehicle. While the exterior is not as unique as the BS, the interior is a world a part in design, material, and fit and finish. And it'll have newer tech than the BS too. Plus you can drive it in pretty much any conditions.

The 997.2 TT-S is stupid fast in stock format--- the PDK transmission is so efficient. If you are getting a non S- you will need to chip it to bump the boost to the S levels.
IIRC (magazine merge) the numbers were for the S:
0-60 in 2.8 seconds
0-100 in 6.2 seconds
1/4 mile trap around 128 mph and 11 seconds
These are incredible numbers for a stock vehicle and since you dont drive your BS that much this car makes all the sense in the world.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm going to see what the dealer will give me for my car in trade (it's got to be really good!) and what they want for theirs. I agree the BS is a very unique niche car that may be a future collectible (IMO) whereas the Porsche 997tt although very desirable is not due to higher production numbers in comparison to a BS (IMO).

The BS is a very special/rare car. You really don't see alot of them on the streets, but the BS wont come close in terms of speed and precision that you get out of a 997 TT.
On a side note:
My buddy has a modded 997TT and it is FACE RIPPING fast. Its is a brutal car in terms of speed and handling.
If it were me id keep the CLK and buy a used 997TT or GT-R.
