New Backseats for my CLK BS

Bob Fuller at Fuller Upholstery did an AMAZING job! Looks as good or better than factory install. Camera phone, forgive the quality. I also debadged the car, very clean, I love it.

The install looks good.

What did they do underneath to support the seats as I know the recommended weight in the back is very low. If you were in an accident for any reason and someone was hurt in the back, the insurance might not cover you.

First of all, very clean install. I have a question for you.

Were you able to connect the rear seat buckle plugs so that they are attached to the airbag system?

Not sure I understand the reinforcement as it is all factory clk tub underneath and yes it all hooks up. Used all factory belts, connectors and hardware. All the stock mounting points and stock clk wiring harness are underneath the BS plastic rear stuff. Hardest part was the seat fabrication. Bob used almost 2 full hides. French stitched and added headrests. Note the side panels and even lower kick panels are in leather also. Looks super trick and is perfect for kids and adults up to say 5'10" comfortably...

The reason I ask is because when I installed my setup, there were no wires to plug into the rear seat buckles. Is there a way that you can take a picture of the rear buckles and where the wires are coming from because I'd like that additional safety

CLK63 Black Series
The addition of rear seating area to the CLK63 Black Series concerns me since there is a limitation from the factory as to the amount of weight that can be carried in the trunk/boot area of 50 kg (110 lbs).

It seems to me that the weight from the addition of the seats, let alone even small passengers would easily exceed that factory weight limitation.

While I appreciate the concerns. The tub is identical to the stock clk(except for the chassis bracing in rear trunk. The seats sit on the tub. The trunk of course is even further back and the weight warning has to do with the double adjustable gas charged shocks. I can tell You it drives great, with or without passengers, the seats don't weigh much at all and of course the BS is heavier than the stock clk.

Since I race cars and instruct with Porsche Factory Motorsport drivers, I am used to pushing edges. A car is useless to me if I can't "use" it. Now I can use it more...! I have found zero downside to this mod personally. It is an even better daily driver as a result and since I never track it, that's what I need is more "user friendly" ...

I think this is super trick and allows me to"use" the car even more. I would do the same thing if I had a GT3 or GT3 RS for example....the job is amazing and really really looks great! Just wanted to share with my fellow owners since it is the best work I have seen.

I'd never fit in those narrow *** seats, I think that fact alone will limit the weight of the rear passengers.
