So i was offered by a dealer in CA a MB extended limited warranty for the BS for 2850.00, for 7 yrs/ 75k, so 3 extra years, with no dedictible. This is MBUSA extended warranty. what do you guys think, is this fair. my local dealer tried to scam me as usual for 5k for after market warranty, I called this dealer in CA thru this forum

Sounds like its an aftermarket extended warranty. I could be wrong but they usually don't do this for cars they aren't CPO'ing. I bought mine second-hand CPO with the added year and mileage to 100k, which is good until October 2012, and up to that point I can buy an additional 3 years with their aftermarket warranty company for something like $4k. I doubt it is a MBUSA extended warranty they are offering, but I could be wrong.

Then it sounds like a good deal. Our cars don't seem to have many major warranty repairs, but I would say that's a good price for the peace of mind. And cheaper for those three years than some of us pay for insurance over that time.

I got a 5yr/100K mi with $100 ded from Fedility thru FJ of Newport Beach, Ca for about $6K. That is 5 years from date of start of the extended warranty and a total of 100k miles on the speedo.

It is more expensive, but it max out the time factor (really 4years factory plus 5 year extended = 9 years total). That 2 years more than your policy (about $1k/yr for your policy and $1200/yr for mine) at an additional cost of almost $2400 for 2 more years. I think it is worth since 5 yr policies are not cheap.

Anyway, when its all said and done, no out of pocket repair costs for a while.

ya thats good but i wasnt going to spend 6k on warranty, the only reason i got this as an insurance policy because the car i bought 2 weeks ago had only 700 miles, so it wasnt even driven, who knows what i might run in to since it hasnt seen any miles, it was a tough decision,

That is a good price. I am buying a CPO 08 CLS63 right now and the dealer sent me a brochure for the MB Cert Pre Owned Extended Limited Warranty Program.
One additional year up t0 120,000 miles - $2795
Two additional years up to 135,000 miles- $4495

Makes your deal seem pretty good.

My factory warranty expired in Aug but my car is CPO and extended warranty but I just found out that it covers only mechanical failures but not cosmetic. The chrome on the air con vents are all peeling but they won't cover it and told me I should have brought it in for replacement before the factory warranty expired.

So CPO warranty is not the same coverage as the factory warranty? I was given the impression it is like an extension of the factory warranty but the extended is not as comprehensive. I need to look into this.

Nope! I found that out with my E63 AMG. The aftermarket warranty that I ended up buying actually covered MORE items than the Mercedes CPO Extended Warranty, and the Service Manager at Mercedes told me that the Mercedes CPO warranties have several exclusions on coverage. The kicker is that the aftermarket warranty was less expensive and covered more items.
