Carbon door panels

Sorry for the delay but life is busy!

A couple of you have asked about the carbon door panels. The panels are £836 each from MB in Germany.

Let me know if you are interested.

JR - email sent.

Didn't ask...just ordered...4 right panels were in stock and 2 lefts. I have taken two sets so the lefts will now be special order. I will have them next Monday...

If you call your local MB they should be able to tell you.

You're gonna have to pull some strings becuase I was told they can not be ordered through any North American MB dealerships, been trying to get my hands on some for years, looks like Earl might have come through for me.

I assume that the airbags won't work with the CF door panels, is this correct?

You are correct. The Carbon Fiber would shatter if airbags were deployed, resulting in sharp fragments flying everywhere in the cabin.

I'd love to get a set too but how would you disable the side airbags? Anyone know the resistance value on those airbag plugs?

here's my concern. Replace airbags with this CF panel. Off Chance get into an accident. Insurance doesn't cover my broken femur and fractured face due to me tampering with airbags.

Indeed, life sucks, then you die . No, seriously, its a fact for any going in, a personal call if someone wants to skip the side bags, I still drive a car with no air bags at all, living dangerously .

I don't think Mercedes will sell these to anyone with a US vin number. How can we get Mercedes to make more and how do we get hold of a bunch of Euro vin numbers?

There is an easy fix here....don't order them if you are concerned.

hughes...you are correct but there is a way around. I am all sorted and might be able to get another set. if you are serious pm me....don't worry about how to do it....just accept it can be done.

Those door panels are cool, I just saw an actually DTM car thats for sale in Scottsdale. I'm not sure they are the same but definitely accents the carbon interior.

CLK AMG BLACK SERIES (among other German things)
you have to disable the side airbags to fit the carbon door trims and will constantly have the dash lit up like a christmas tree .

just get a euro car ?

Just spoke to my MB tuner and it seems very difficult to get rid of the airbag warning light on the dash. I recall Renntech telling me this is pretty tough to do as well. If any US customers bought this and is able to get around it, please share!

Of course if the car is track only then who cares. lol

I have to admit I always hated the folded leather door panels. Now I know why. They were an after thought.

That said, Airbags for me anyday..
