100 cell metal core cats?

I posted this up in the Tech section but will also post it here as there are some hard-core CLK builds/builers on this board that have assisted me with my CLK before and may be able to help me out again.

I'm trying to find a reputable manufacturer/resaler (no fleabay types) of 100 cell metal core cats, I remember a company in Australia called Metalcat (metalcat.com.au) but their website no longer exists so I presume they have gone under or been bought out by another company.

Ive done some searching online but have found nothing solid yet, anyone have any leads you could pass my way?

I'm installing a complete Kleemann kit (sc, cams, headers & tune) on my CLK500 next week so I would like to have a set of quality cats shipped over (I'm in Dubai) ASAP - the group that said they could hook me up just backed out in the 11th hour...

Thanks in advance.

Contact "Random Technology"..they've been manufacturiing 100, 200, 300 units since the early 90's and probably pioneered this converter design...

http://www.randomtechnology.com/

You're in the Gulf so you may want to also consider Milltek Sport units, manufactured in the UK, with sales oulets in Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman...

P.S.

The 100 cell may cause a CEL/OBDII fault...

And this is why I post in this forum once and a while - thanks for your reply, it's greatly appreciated!

I saw Random Technologies units on eBay, never thought to search them out any further. For some reason Miltek never came up in any of my searches. Anyways, thanks again pal.

And as for the CEL, I'm going to have Kleemann adjust for the 100 cell cats when they flash my ECU.

I have heard from a very experiecned exhaust guy who i use from time to time and who has proved this on a dyno, that 200cells cats actually yield better performance than 100cell cats bucasue the size of the cells in 100 cell cats is so big that the exhaust is actually buffetted off the internal walls of each cell more than in a 200 cell cat and therefore actually reduces power.

Most high end sports cars manufacturers use 300 cell cats. Surely that shows they give even better performance over the other types?

Hmmmm, possibly the reason why Kleemann USA uses 200 cell cats...?

So true...

In fact even some well designed 300 cell cats flow better...
The OP wanted 100 cell and I linked to the Random Technology site which states that to achieve the same emissions performance a 100 cell cat must be made much longer which can negate some of it's theoretical performance/flow gains

Some very good info guys, much appreciated. In the end I've decided to go with the 200 cell cats available from Kleemann Denmark, thanks again for all the replies and info.

You learn something new everyday around here.

Best 100 cell cats are from Milspec.

We made a conservative 700rwhp on my supra through 2x 100 cell milspec cats.... and road raced it to multiple victories.
