CLK63 BS - 5 owners and 7400miles!?

Im seriusly interested in this car, tried it out today. And the car was awsome! Interiour was as good as 100%, I would say the exterior 90%. A few scratches on the front bumper...

Must say my 09 E63 with almost 40k miles is better exterior.

Anyway, should I be consernd about the numbers of owners? First owner had it under a year, next one 1400 miles...

Since this is my first clk bs experience, please advice.

Appreciate your comments

Stian

In my opinion the condition is more important than the number of owners, would a 1 owner car in less than average condition be a better option, I would take a cleaner or lower milaeage multiple owner car over the 1 owner vehicle in lesser condition. Does the car have all maintenance records? Did it have the 1000 mile service performed as was recomended? What strikes me is your paint is 80% comment, not sure how to take it without better explaination or clear photos of questionable area.

IMO the $86.9k asking price is steep on that car.

Run a Carfax...at the minimum it will give you an idea of when and where the car changed hands...

Price is a bit high if it's not with FSH.
I paid about 80K, delivered to my door, for a lower mileage, one owner, fully documented and CPO'd from the original selling dealer, BS in early 2010.

jrcart: well, difficult to say in %, but I said 90... Looks like the car have been washed in a brush car wash since it was new...

I have the carfax, but is doesn say anything about services. Im going to check with my local merc dealer, they can check it out.

RBYCC: I also thought the price was a bit high...

Will keep you updated!

If they are just minor surface scratches in the clear from brushed car washes a good body shop or detail shop can buff that right out of the clear coat or worse case take it a step further and lightly wet sand the clear and re-buff and polish it. I have seen some pretty rough finishes come back to life and look show room new when done by a talented professional, and by talented professional I'm not talking about the 20 year old kid working at the Turtle Wax Car Care Center down the street. If the imperfections don't go into the paint and you can snag the car for say $79k or less jump on it, but I would not pay a penny over $80 for the car.

I wouldn't be too concerned. That looks like a great example with very low miles, I say jump on it.

Definitely get the service records. Your dealer will be able to access them but there is not always a sufficient level of detail to know exactly what was done unless it was accessed by the dealer that perfomed the service. I just went through this with my dealer but my car was a one owner car serviced at one dealer, I was able to get them directly. It will still give you good info though. Agree price is high for 4 owners and 8k miles, and it also does not appear to have an extended warranty. Is there original warranty still on the car? To me, it is $5k+ too high in price. Good luck.
