clk bs as a daily ride?
hello amg fans, just curious on how many of you guys use it every day? I am assuming that if you can live daily with the harsh suspension its an incredible car for every day. Am i correct? Btw regardless, i cant wait for august and buy The black!

I have used mine as my daily driver for over 4 years and 35K miles. I also would not characterize the suspension as harsh and I have never had any complaints from my wife when she is in the car. Not to mention that I do my driving in the northeast which is not known for having the smoothest roads. It all depends on what you are used to and the type of cars you enjoy driving. I always look forward to getting back into the BS.

I don't own the BS, but took an extended test drive last year in one. At the time we had a c63 pp car to compare. The C63 was much more harsh and jarring than the BS. The BS was docile and easy to drive. I'd dd it with no worries.

I have 41,000 miles on mine, and I can only use it about 7 months of the year. So, clearly, it can be done. When driving alone, I am unaware of excessive harshness about 90% of the time. We do have a few corrugated concrete highways around here that have unpleasant stretches (Like the Chicago Skyway). For freeway driving, the ride is generally fine, as is the case for almost all of our surface streets.
I have lowered air pressures a bit (38# all around), and run Bridgestones. Both of these measures also improve ride. I have had to have a rim straightened a time or three.
When I travel with my wife, I tend not to take the BS, as the passenger is more "impacted" than the driver. But, she does like to be in it when the valet staff at local Chicago hot spots leap to get the car, and leave it up front. When I pull up to Gibsons in my other dd (CTS V coupe), they ask, "where's the Benz?"
The BS is softer than the Caddy, but not really stiffer than a 996 on aftermarket springs. AS

Daily driven since 07 with 44,880 miles. I wouldn't say the suspension is "harsh" as much as it is stiff. You do feel everything on the road which IMO makes it a pleasure to drive. If you are passionate about cars and racing you have nothing but a smile on your face while driving it.

While it's great for the driver, it sucks for a passenger who doens't need to feel everything on the road since they have no control over it. My gf hated it as a passenger.

'Harsh' is a VERY relative term.

ok thanks that makes sense. A amg sales person told me it was verry stiff. Do you guys ever play with the suspension settings? How hard is it to adjust apart from taking the wheels out?

I daily drive mine and have no complaints (37k thus far). While there aren't many street cars with suspension as stiff as the BS the ride quality doesn't really suffer all that much. It's a very connected feel if that makes sense, and if you hit a small bump (or god forbid a pothole) you'll feel it but it's not like it's going to give you chronic back pain.
If you want a sports car then the BS should be no problem, but if you're looking for an S class the BS might disappoint.
