Huntington Beach, CA –- May 30, 2012 –- The much anticipated reveal of this stunning AMG racecar took place in a standing room only event hosted at Evosport's Huntington Beach Performance Center on Wednesday, May 23rd. Evosport Engineering was birthed from the company known as a premier tuner and manufacturer of performance products for Mercedes/AMG autos since 1999.
The car, an AMG CLK63 Black Series with its "all business" livery will be driven by long time Porsche driver and Grand Am Cup Champion Craig Stanton, who is also an MBBS Racing team Principal and Manager. The car will be run in the GT class of the Pirelli - World Challenge series. The GT Class has been the scene of factory supported teams from Cadillac and Volvo along with top notch privateer entries running Porsche 911 GT3R's, Corvette's, Ferrari F430's, and Audi R8 LM's. The series is televised on the NBC Sports Network.
The car's race debut is expected to be at Mid-Ohio August 3, 2012. In the interim, the car is going through extensive testing and system refinement. This is the first AMG to race in a professional series in the US in over 20 years.
Evosport Engineering will be using this racing platform to further develop its performance product offerings for the Mercedes and AMG market, to which they currently distribute to over 20 countries worldwide.
