White CLK63BS with black stripes in Scottsdale

Hey guys,

I'm currently in the market for a CLK63BS and has come across one on the internet. A white one with black stripes with a number of Renntech upgrades.

The car is located in Scottsdale, AZ. Just wondering if the car used to belong to anyone on the forum or has someone on the forum seen the car in person?

Any knowledge of the history of the car is also helpful since I'm located quite far from there.

Thanks a lot!

I've seen video of that car at a track day event some time ago. The only one I have ever seen with the double black strips.
The White Weekend Warrior is for sale. The car is currently at H&G Motorsports having their new adjustable rear control arms installed. It has never been tracked but benefitted from development of parts. Extensive improvements by Renntech, Weistec & H&G.
Send private message if interested in the White Warrior featured on H&G's web site.

On eBay...not a big fan of the whole racing stripe, blacked out, boy racer look; to each their own. Maybe the stripes peal off; rest is an easy fix.

I've seen this car for sale a number of different times on multiple websites (eBay, Cars.com etc.) and from different dealers. I don't know what's wrong with it other than it looks terrible IMO but there have been no buyers. If you're interested make sure you check it out thoroughly, there is a reason it hasn't sold.

Im wondering what the deal is with this car also. Is it just not selling because of the simple fact he made it so ugly? Unfortunately the striped are painted on so it would need a full paint job to correct that mess.

Are there any videos of details on this car anywhere. It looks like it would be a beast.

I agree. That car has been way to molested for my liking. To much chance for a lot of problems.

These cars are good in their stock configuration.

I agree with those that said it is not selling because it would take thousands of dollars to reverse the hideous cosmetic crap that was done. You are (at the very least) going to neet to paint the front bumber, rear bumper, hood, top, trunk, and fill in the holes left after you remove that horrible spoiler....right there you have probably spent $6,000 for a quality job. That does not even address the wheels and headlights and tail lights and some other items.

It would be more than that. The whole car would need to be painted to make it rite. If you just shot the hood, roof, and trunk the whites would never match up on the fenders and doors. It might look like they do in certain light but in other light you would be able to tell it was painted. Paint never matches up 100% and that would drive me nuts.

I had an old M-Coupe that we re-painted the hood due to rock chips and it was done very well.... but damned if you could not tell during that 5 o'clock hour when the sun hit it just right.

For those still considering the Watson BS.

Not necessarily shocking, but reinforces the need for a PPI and personal inspection when/where possible.

There's a reason that Arizona car is not sold. He probably can't sell it locally so online to an unsuspecting buyer is his only choice. Sucker born every minute.

I know this is a little bit of an old thread, but I know some of the history of this car. It was originally purchased by PGA golfer Bubba Watson. When I was affiliated with DynoComp in Scottsdale Bubba came in about some performance parts and body mods. Rich and I talked with Bubba in the parking lot about what he wanted to do. He wanted black racing stripes painted on. I had mentioned vinyl, in case he grew sick of the stripes. Obviously I dont have Bubba money and when he grew sick of the stripes he just got rid of the car lol.

As far as I remember the strips were painted my Piccione custom paint body in Phoenix ( I could be wrong, but for a while that was who Rich at dyno comp was using) They also painted my Supercharged C55 headlights and tail lights.

Bubba drove the car for a bit. I ran into him in traffic in Scottsdale and from a quick window to window conversation he was loving the car. Bubba moved from Scottsdale AZ a little later and I'm pretty sure this is when he got rid of the car. Not sure how, but Schumacher Mercedes on the Phoenix/Scottsdale line acquired the car. It was displayed in the showroom for a little bit then sold to the person who is driving the car on the track, in the above videos. I dont know the person who bought the cars name, but he is also a Dyno Comp customer. These track events I'm pretty sure are from a Dyno Comp track rental day.

From there on I dont know how many more times it's been tracked or sold. I think it's a hard sell, because people are not into the stripes that are painted on. Also note: that track events held at Bondurant are not races, there is a lead car (in most cases a v6 CTS) and you can not pass that car or anyother car for that matter. If it was tracked, I doubt it was in a NASA event.

Anyway I thought I would add that bit of info on that car.

looks like the old girl is for sale on BAT......good luck meeyatch. This one should go cheap. If you want, we can post these track day events to scare away other bidders and lower the price even more.

I think everyone in this community remembers this car. Maybe it will go to a home that can enjoy it for what it is if it's priced accordingly. That being said it still hurts me a little to see cars as special as this in this kind of condition.

That's the figure I had in my head as well. Then again what do I know after the black 17k mile modded one sold for 109 out of nowhere a couple weeks ago.

Looks like this one was not meant to be. I could not really justify the 'all in' number of $60,000 for one with an entire repaint and some of the other issues. I had my threshold at a total spend, with fees, of $56k. Oh well. Seems like there are Black Series popping up every week on BaT now.
