CLK 63 BS VS C 63 BS For Track

I'm very interested in one of these two cars, it will be a car that I will take to the track.
Thank you

But how much better it is on the track?
Is it worth the extra expense?
If I want a great Mercedes for fun and the track,
Is the CLK 63 BS just as good?
Or the new suspension qualities of the C63 BS with the new transmition and rear diff. Makes it a far superior track car?
Thank you

There was an interesting post in the PL from the Chief Editor, who has his International C racing license and is working towards racing in the GT3 class (or maybe he already has by now). He knows a thing or two about racing and high performance driving, and I don't mean by a video game. He owns both the CLK and C in Black Series form.
Here's an excerpt of his post. Note, the laptimes were years apart (with different weather, conditions, tires, etc), and his skill has obviously improved since the other runs in the CLK Black and SLS.
The Dunlops ran very well once bled down but I didn’t feel that they had a ton more grip that the Corsa’s from the CLK. To check this out, I will run a set of Corsa’s that I have in my garage so that I can compare the two directly on the C Black. Overall the wear was very similar to the Corsa. I was being very careful to not really understeer the front axle after seeing some of the results of that with other owners. At the end of the day and about 40 laps, I think I could run another 20 laps on the fronts before they would be completely shot.
At the end of the day I was very happy with the lap times of the car. As I have said in other posts I do tend to limit how hard I will fully push a street car without all of the safety equipment that I would have in a race car. Without a Hans and a cage I will push but not 10/10’s everywhere. I ran my quickest laps in the morning before the temps got up over 100. My best lap was a 1:37.5 in light traffic. With a bit more seat time, cooler temps and no traffic, I am sure the car will run 1:36 or even 1:35.5. Very impressive for street car that I drove to the track and drove home with all the comforts you would expect of a Mercedes. I entertained a constant stream of people coming by every time I came off the track to look at the car. Everyone loved the sound and were amazed by how quick it is.
Here is how it compares to my CLK Black and my SLS at RA. Each of these times were driven on a different day in a fairly similar style and each on R compound tires. Temps varied greatly day to day.
It is impressive how close the lap times are between the SLS and the C Black. At the full limit in each I am sure the gap is bigger as the SLS is just so much better balanced than the C Black and I would say my driving has improved a bit in the last two years :-)
2010 CLK Black 1:39.5
2012 C Black 1:37.5
2010 SLS 1:36
I think for the price, you'll get 95% of the car for 50% of the money if you buy a CLK BS vs. C BS. Of course, you won't have a new car either, it will be 4-5 years old and likely out of warranty.
