Happy New Year. Got my new Black!
So I decided to sell my Audi R8 and pick up a CLK Black. The R8 was a fabulous car, and looked phenomenal. R8 also had fantastic traction under all weather conditions and at any throttle position. All this made for safe fast motoring, but no challenge. No X factor. It was not on the edge. Now comes the Black. Unreal torque. Modulation of the throttle.. Learning to control the beast. Fun to drive factor is much greater. Both the sounds of the R8 and the Black are awe inspiring, but the Black crackles off throttle, love it... Interior, seats, carbon bits, all much better in the Black. This car is unleashed, and that is what will entertain me for some time. Must respect it, and must gradually learn its limits, which appear to be very high with its wonderful suspension.

I had the V8 R8. The black feels much faster. Next week getting the wheels blacked out and the calipers powder coated red. The chrome around the windows will also be blackened. Can't wait for the final look.

Just got my Black back from the Scott Autobody Charlotte. They powder coated the wheels grey titanium, Powdered the calipers red, and black wrapped the chrome window surround. Picked up some AMG center caps as well. Already had the windows tinted. I think I have it killed.

I have to agree with you about the R8. I have driven Audi's all my life... would love to have my children drive them. But for pure fun and skill, RWD or at least mostly RWD would seem much more fun. The Gallardo I drove and my C63 BS seem more fun to drive than the R8 actually.
