Mystery Part!

Hello E eryone. I have posted before and didnt really find any answeres. so I'm hoping for a second try. I am looking for the Brush piece that sits under the sshifter slot. I have bought the the slotted shift gate twice and it didnt come with it, even though its a part that attaches to that slotted gate via 4 screws. So i ordered the plate which a few members told me that is the part that comes with that brush dust gaurd piece and no go again it didnt come with that. I was wondering if anyone can be kind enough to look on the back of theirs and check to see if they can find a part number on that brush piece. I am willing to paypal you $50 for the trouble. Please let me know. Thank you very very much.

regards,
Paul

What kind of shifter do you have, "1,2,3,4,D" or "+/- Tiptronic".....??

I think the piece you need called "Brush Shutter", unfortunate its not comes separately,

it comes with a complete "+/- Tiptronic" shifter assembly.....

but its not a part of the tiptronic assembly nore does it mount to that. it mounts directly to the back of the slotted shift gate. Thats why i'm looking for a part number on the actual part because sometimes benz doesnt list them in their diagram and they just say it comes with something else and once you give them the actual part number they can get it by itself, ive had that happen to me atleast 5 times.

Sure, you are completely correct, i had a same this subject before with my previous SL500,, but as i know;

the only separated parts of "W202/W208/W210" Tiptronic shifter are: "Surrounded Frame & Indicator slotted gate",

and those parts not comes with a Shutter Brush, That’s a strange thing....!?!

I'm talking about the brush part for the clk63 black series, this piece doesn't come on any other car. I think you maybe thinking I'm talking about the dust guard on the regular shifters. The black series is significantly different and it's an actual brush. It would be much appreciated if someone with a black series can chime in.

Ohh, i thought you talking about W208, cause your profile drives is: "W208",,

Anyway; this brush comes with a cover #: "209 267 02 88", when you go to the Dealer, give them the part # including the code of the Black series,,

The code #: "H73+P98"

ZAYED,,

Sorry for digging up an old thread.
@VIPclk320 I am looking for the same mystery part.
I retrofitted the BS shifter gate and knob but I couldn't find this mystery part. It is some kind of dust guard, I suppose.
The BS shift gate looks awful without this part.
The part number 209 267 02 88 is the sifter gear selector display - with the button for M-S-C.

I will have the parts you need shortly.

As an FYI I thought Tiptronic was Porsche.

Never heard that one...source?

The merc version is called touch shift.

http://wikicars.org/en/Tiptronic

Tiptronic® is a registered trademark, and it is owned by German sports car maker Porsche, who licenses it for use by others such as Volkswagen,Audi and Skoda.

In any event I will likely have a spare on of these available soon as the BS progresses.

I read it somewhere while researching a 997tt tiptronic. Renntech for instance rebuilds lots of tiptronic transmissions for Porsche customers.

Rather than looking at a forum, here is a link from car and driver.

http://blog.caranddriver.com/shift-t...transmissions/

Much better information than 6speed.

Anyways - when my new build is complete the parts will be available.
