Hi Milage CLK 63 Black Series

I found a hi. mileage Black series for 55k. Prob. could get it for 50k.
Just think what you could do for let's say 60k ? Rebuild motor with upgraded parts making at least 630hp. Trans upgrade, suspension upgrade, brakes, wheels and tires, differential, exhaust. You could have a super car with fresh running gear that looks like new ! I paid 82k for a 15k mi. car with 50k in Renntech upgrades. Added 10k more on suspension, wheels, tires, and Diff.

I can see the day when these hi mileage Black Series which look like new, will be bought on the cheap and re-built with all the latest hi performance goodies. A super rare car for 100k. The CLK-63 Black is the only car Mercedes has produced which pulls off the muscle car theme. The C-63 is not as raw nor looks as hot rod like as the CLK.
Someone out there should consider this opportunity. I can tell you the Weekend Warrior sure gets allot of attention.

Hello. Curious what ever happened with the car you asked about. Did you get it? What do you consider high mileage to be? I would like to pick one up to do a make over on if it is still available.

I saw the car advertised on E Bay. I already own the one featured on HG Motorsports Weekend Warrior post on this site 2 months ago.
I was just making a point if someone wanted to develop a Black doing all the upgrades now available, a hi mileage clean car around 50 to 60k would make a good starting point.
Put 50 or 60k into upgrades and you can have a fresh car over 600hp, that handles and looks great. Most of us look for low mileage, pay up for it and replace everything anyway. People who own Mercedes usually take good care of their cars, don't thrash them, and have them serviced at dealerships within mileage and time periods via the computer.
What's the point ?

Is there any concerns needed when purchasing a CLK BS with 50k-60k miles? Besides the annual maintenance (oil changes, brakes, etc.) is there any other expenses that need to be focused on? Looking to get a BS and have seen some with mileage in the 40k-60k range. Thanks!

Mine has 55,000 miles, and has cost nothing. Be prepared for the dealer to tell you, "you need new rotors, they measure under specs". You don't need new rotors, they are fine.
Enjoy. AS

I have seen 5 or 6 in the last year over 50,000 miles....they are out there, but get them inspected. I looked into two or three of them and they all needed around $3,000 in work.

When I sold mine a little over a year ago (forgot the mileage, around 40k maybe?) I was deathly afraid of needing rotors. I don't know how expensive they are now but if I remember correctly I was looking at 8k or something insane at the dealership. Maintenance on that car never really bit me but I was scared to death of getting a 10k repair that wouldn't be covered under warranty.

Yes I know, if you can't afford the maintenance you can't afford the car. That's a big part of why I sold.
