Clk63 BS v C63
Please don't flame me I'm trying to make an educated decision on my next AMG car. I have an opportunity to get a pampered BS with 18k miles for about 65k, 2008 car.
My question is the new C63 with track pack is about the same price and has 507 hp now as well.
Is the BS really any better or is do you get because it's rarer super cool looking?
I have had/have AMG cars before but this one seems to be the holy grail and just trying to find out some info.
I should say I don't need the car for any specific driving purpose other than fun time.
Thanks all.

With the C you are going to get forged internals and a MUCH better transmission, not to mention the interior fit and finish and electronics on the newer C is far superior to the CLK. With the CLK you are going to get far more aggressive styling, Black Series exclusivity and the CLK BS should hold it's value much better as it has already taken it's big depreciation hit. The CLK BS also has better stock suspension, rear dif cooler, bigger oil cooler, so if you ever plan on tracking the car the CLK might be the better choice. It's a tough call, you have to make the decision on what is most important to you. I fit were me and this is just a weekend "toy" I would pick the CLK BS. These CLK BS's still grab everyone's attention at meets, cars and coffee and track events.

The C63 is a great car. More practical than the CLKBS, and as jrcart said more up to date on mechanical tech.
The CLKBS however is just plain Rock 'n' Roll. Handling, sound, looks, exclusivity. All more and better than the C.
I had the opportunity to drive the current C63 coupe the other day. And while I cannot think of anything wrong with it it cannot hold a candle to the CLKBS (which I own for a couple of years now).
Just my opinion of course.

$65K is good but there's a guy on this forum selling a low mileage 2013 C63 Black Series for <$100K which is a great deal if you're in the market for a BS. Depends on what you want and how much depreciation you're willing to accept.

It's a non aero package car, listed for about $106K new. The Aero pkg cars are still fetching MSRP in most cases in the used market. The aero pkg cars are the ones in demand, non-aero pkg cars seem to sit a long time on the market.

If you like looking at your car from the outside, taking photos or your vehicle, and be the center of attention at car meet and etc. then go for the CLK BS.
If you like sitting inside a nicer interior, driving a better transmission, newer tech, then go for the C63 507.
Performance wise they're about the same at this point.
Have fun picking !

I think color was the only option. What I've also learned along the way is that some vehicles have fender creases others don't. And some cars didn't come w/TPMS. Ordering guide attached.

Don't get me wrong, the CBS is an awesome car, it's more car than the CLK BS, but for a weekend warrior, the CLK BS tends to pucker up my a*hole more often than the CBS. The biggest difference is the steering, the CLK BS just felt like driving a big go-kart. The CBS comes close, but it's a lot easier to drive.

The only option is iPod interface. It's a dealer installed option so you can retrofit that.

Mine came with iPod from factory
I think there was a thread on here about that topic, there were a handful of us whose cars came from the factory with the iPod interface.

Automotive designers listed the CLK63 bs as one of the top 100 best designs. Looks wise it's still an attention getter.
I've run head to head with the C63 bs on track and I have to admit the C63 bs easier to drive at the limit due to the improved ESP and transmission.
Acceleration both are about the same. Buying the CLK63 bs is a zero depreciation car now.
Interesting how many former owners of the CLK63bs that sold them are rebuying.

The 5 official colors available on the CLK BS (as per the DOG) was Black, Obsidian Black, Mars Red, Arctic White, and Iridium Silver. The DOG states that the "Only vehicle options include 5 color choices". The only other color was Matte Silver which was a on off on Scott's CLK.
There's actually no mention of the iPod interface as an option in the DOG other than the legal "iPod is a registered trademark of Apple Computer, Inc." blurb on the last page. Regardless, some cars as per JRCART were delivered with them standard, and others needed to pay a few grand to get it installed at the dealer. On the non BS CLK and E classes of that era, it's a dealer installed option.
I wonder if the cars were all supposed to include iPod interface installed at the dealer level, but some dealers decided to not do it to make a few more bucks. That would be the only reason I can think of where some cars got it and some cars not, and it's not even an option in the DOG.
