After almost a week living with the Weistec ECU and Throttle Blip from Ralf (german32er) my car is just AWESOME. what a difference, the two work so well together and make the car come ALIVE. i cant say enough wonderful things about Steve and the crew at Weistec, ALONG with Ralf and co from Germany! THE combination is a MUST for ALL black series owners! or any m156 owners.

Congrats, sounds like you have a beast now.

Side note, I was at a dyno event a few weeks ago and Lenny from Renntech was there (one of renntech's tuners) and he told me they have throttle blipping for the CLKBS and ML63 I told him how owners have wanted this for some time and why didn't they advertise it? He simply said he does not know why it is not advertised but can offer it when requested. Maybe something current owners can check up on.

Where did you get the blip done? I never heard from Ralf after the dates were set....just assumed they didn't make the trip again.

That is awesome news of how well the mod is doing. I have been trying to meet up with Ralf also but our schedules are just not matching up. I'll just have to wait until Ralf next visit out it seems...

Sorry, I'm late to this party (just purchased a CLK63 BS a few weeks ago). I intend on going with a Weistec chip. Throttle blipping would be so cool! How can I make this happen? From the thread I gather Ralf is instrumental, but I don't really understand how. (Ich bin ein Newbie!) Thanks!

no, i have that one locked in a warehouse in arizona...i put over 65k miles on it and figured i should stop driving it so much as it will hopefully be a collectible in 40 years with only 30-44 ever made

got it done at weistec. Steve was nice enough to lend Ralf his shop and time for 2 days, then they were on a trip around the us to different locals to do the same.

Can someone post a thorough review of the blip please? I wanted to do it, but work got its strangle hold on me - forcing travel and a total lack of time. However, i would really, really like a legit review - as opposed to "its great". Thanks guys!

What would you like to know? It's cost is published, it takes about an hour to do if Rlf is on site. If not you can ship ECU and TCU to him and he will modify and return the same day. The reinstall takes about 2 hrs with most of this reinstalling TCU. This also requiresnew trans fluid as the valve body is opened up I think from memory. The car blips in every gear but the lower the gear the more aggressive the blip in terms of sound. Where you are in the rec range also impacts the aggressiveness of the sound of the blip. The blip in first is exponentially tougher than blip from 5th to 4th for example. The blip takes about a 100km to adapt and over that time the duration of the blip shortens from a slightly exaggerated blip in duration to a shorter sharper noise. Quite simply the blip works as advertised and replicates the blip in cars with similar gearbox ie a c63. I feel that the gear change has fastened up, although I can't scientifically prove this. The blip takes the jerkiness out of downshifts and results in a smooth downshift with an aggressive rev match that will transform your enjoyment of your BS. I have the blip in both my CLK BS and my ML63 and I can't imagine the, without it. Both cars have tune nd exhaust mods and supercharger and the blip upgrade had no impact on existing mods. If you have a modded exhaust your enjoyment will be significantly enhanced and pedestrians significantly more disturbed...

Does the blip work in every mode (S, C, M) or just in manual ?

It works in every mode. If you are in sport for example and want to use the paddles to change gear it will still blip. If you are in sport and don't even touch the paddles and decelerate rapidly the car will blip itself without going anywhere near the paddles
