Stock wheel setup - 20mm spacers?

I've been through all posts related to wheel spacers and have pm'd a few of you regarding spacer sizes on a stock wheel set-up. Seems most are running 10mm to 12mm.

Is anyone running north of 12mm? There is youtube clip showing a BS with 20mm's (before/after views). Do you see any downside for use of 20mm for street use only on BS with stock suspension?

Get good quality spacers and remember you need new bolts according to what you're increasing it by.

I have 12mm front, 20mm rear. Even with 20mm rear, the rims still aren't perfectly flush.

Are you running stock wheels with your set-up?

10mm/12mm, longer studs, genuine AMG wheels by Alcoa's Forged light weight aluminum.

Try RAD OTIS. That's where I picked up my spacers and extended bolts.

I have a C230 and Just bought the same exact AMG Rims. Are you happy with that spacer size? or would you go bigger/smaller if you were to do it again?

Also what was the specs on the Wheel Studs you used? I don't think stock wheel Studs work.

also those wheels look great

Does anyone know the exact extended bolt length/type to order from RAD for 10mm and 12mm spacers? Are they ball seat or cone?

Thanks!

I just got off the phone with a tech at H&R

He said that H&R did not make spacers for

the CLK63 Black Series because only

350 CLK63 Black Series were produced

But - Looking at the application chart

I see that they have spacers for a 2009 CLK55 AMG

So I asked

The tech did not know what year MB stopped making

the CLK55

Thank-You

Call them. The rep (Phil?) will walk you through it. Seat type (ball or cone) is dictated by the rim you're using. OEM is ball. Also, lug size is M14x1.5, not M12x1.5.

Juzt had spacers installed this week by Mark J who is on this thread. He did 10mm front / 12mm rear (with extended bolts). I believe he sourced from H&R.

Mark - could you post part numbers for both spacers and bolts if you have free time? Also, did you end up needing to machine polish spacers to match the metal of the stock wheels? Thx

I just saw my car with spacers installed today.......wow do they look amazing!!

I went 10mm front and 12mm rear with extended bolts (H&R part #'s below). As always with this car,, pics don't do it justice.

IMO, tire gap looks perfect in rear and near perfect in front. You may be able to run 12s all around, but no complaints with current set-up.

Front Spacer: 10mm
Part #: 205 56 659 (front only)
msrp: $99.95 (pair)

Rear Spacer: 12mm
Part #: 205 56 65 (rear only)
msrp: $99.95 (pair)

Front/Rear spacer information
Bolt Pattern: 5/112
Center Bolt: 66.5
Bolt/Stud: Bolt
Thread Type: 12x1.5
Spencer Type: DR

Extended Wheel Bolts
Part #: 145 3502
Thread Length: 35mm
Thread Type: 14/1.5"
Seat Type: Mercedes ball
Head: 17mm
msrp: $4:45 each

Hope this helps......and props to Mark for meticulous installation.

I sent a note to my tech for clarification and will let you knowi. He may respond directly as Mark is on this thread.

Sorry for any confusion, I wrote down part numbers and sourced thread sizing and ancillary data in my post directly from H&R site.

Jcrame00,

Please post a picture from a side angle so we can see how the front and rear tires line up to the fenders.

Thanks!

This is my only side view photo. I'll post better photos when I get back next week. I apologize if photos seem overly large, I need a 101 on photo uploads.

Quote from my technician below. It does support NYC Z06's response.

"i believe it is a typo on the H&R website, the spacers have a 14x1.5 thread and the bolts are a 14x1.5 thread"

Looks good! Thanks for the side shot.

Seems like you can go a bit wider. 20mm/rear and 15mm/front maybe?
