Black BS for sale in CA

Another 8,000 mile car for sale in the same week?? One for $70k and now another for $65k?? Is this some kind of joke to kill the market, or are two almost identical cars both for sale in California for roughly $15,000 - $20,000 less than they should be?

Exactly! One of those has a listed 8000 miles, the other one says 8300 miles, both black.

No offense, but you are kidding yourself that these cars are priced wrong. Another black (obsidian) just sold in Atlanta for $70k. It was an 11k car in mint condition that was bought back by the first of two owners. On the other hand, I would be quite happy that these cars have held their value so well. At these asking prices, I would say they are serious sellers looking for serious buyers. If Mancave had posted his car a few days earlier I don't know I would be in the C63 I just bought.

If this was up two weeks ago I might have been a buyer. I just purchased a silver one. This might be the same car as man cave?
But I think this is terrible for the market, these cars seem to take 6 months to sell either way.

Its all around timing and market conditions. These sellers have their eye on the next thing and made the decision to let this thing (CLK63BS) go (for whatever reason) in order to get it. Its a great time to be a buyer with these current choices!

underpriced ??
I would offer that if it WERE underpriced by 20K -- then I'd have 100 dealers standing in line.. As much as I WISH it were 20K more -- this I believe is the value today.... I would also offer it's a tremendous value and anyone that's actually driven one of these would attest to.

This may be the post where everybody hates me
With the CLK BS (the two 8k mile cars excepted)
The standard sales pitch always seems to include
"I am in no hurry to sell so if I don't get my price
I will put the car in storage" as a justification for a
inflated price - and then give the production numbers ect...
Look thru past listings on this forum
The red one currently for sale here started with this
pitch at $85k
Now it is a must sell at $73k - in two months time
Most of the ones up for sale on Cargurus/Ebay ect
are not selling at the listed price but just re-listed
over and over
The dealers have these cars at a premium price and if
they don't sell they sell to another dealer who
keeps it at the same price and then reselling it again...
Looking at the dealers ads one would think that
these cars really hold their value
But are they selling ---
In the last year I have been contacted 3 times
by sellers with an ad that states "I am in no hurry...
asking if I am interested let's try to work something
out as I really need to sell this car...
My guess is that the owner(s) of the California BS
with 8000 miles are moving into something new
and are looking for a price that sells the car fairly
That said there is no mention of mods on this car(s)
And this post is not about the pricing of mods
The NY dealer with the white one for $129k/6k miles
has been sitting on that one for awhile - I see that as dead money
Trust me - I am very supportive of the CLK BS and their owners
While looking to purchase a BS - I am having T-Shirts printed up
showcasing the Excitement of this car (2 versions)
Thank-You

Another point is I think black is the least valuable/desirable and the red cars people seem to think it adds 20k.
On another note the white clk in florida that was recently purchased with 8kmiles just went up for sale with 9k miles. I wonder why he sold it so fast.

I'd add that timing, location and visibility play a role in pricing. Not every potential purchaser is on this forum (or any forum for that matter). Private party sales are not as simple as those brokered through a dealer who can offer financing, delivery, sales tax offsets, etc. And some areas have little inventory while others are saturated (relatively speaking). All things being equal though, a one owner BS w/8K miles for $70K seems like a good deal. GLWS.

I think the biggest problem with selling these is that most people don't know about them. Unless you trip over one in a used/exotic car dealership, you really have to search for one, in order to find one.

A year ago, people were giving them away. Earlier in the year when I bought mine, with 17k miles, and for months after....people were asking the world for them. That silver 30k mile car that sold at auction for $60k and a few other ones that I am aware of (a white 40k mile car sold at the $72k mark, and a black 11k mile car for $82k), indicated a heated up market. Now, (2) cars with 8,000 miles with asking prices of $65k and $70k.
What confuses me even more is that right after I crossed 19k miles a couple of months ago, I had (2) offers for my car at $72k and $76k, from people qualified to pay it. Granted, my car has roughly $45,000 in aftermarket modifications, but I decided to keep my car. (*Do not tell me I am stupid...I love my car, and money is not everything.)
That said, I am giving serious thought to selling my wife's Audi S5 and going after one of these 8,000 mile cars, as she has taken to driving the Black Series more and more, and it may come time to get one for her so that I can have mine back.
Either way....wonderful cars, and whoever buys these is going to be one happy camper.

If you are referencing the silver BS
that sold at Mannheim/Fresno around
Feb.23 2015 for $60k with just under
40k miles - It went to Park Place in
Bellevue - never sold at $69,995
Went to Florida and never sold
Went to...
Anyway - I went to look at it several
times but the first time a salesman
provided a little knowledge
The floor mat on the passenger side
Some of the threads that make up the logo
were broken - the salesman said that was caused
by women wearing high heels
I then asked about the BS emblem on the boot
(the black one) which was a dull polished look
with no black remaining - the salesman told me
that the model of this CLK was the Black Series
and in name only - that none of the emblems
were supposed to be black
And there are guys like him at every used car store
that have no idea how special this car is
Thank-You

I second that - i love the rims and they look perfect for a black car and everything blacked out. That being said - you could get a lower priced black one and wrap it - i have no experience with that but i heard if you get a good place with the quality wrap, it looks like paint.

If yes I know the car as I saw it in person.

Actually I saw it last year (november 14) when I bought my C63 BS from RBM. Car was in the showroom. Actually the CLK and C63 BS were from the same owner and he traded them in.
That CLK sat for a couple months and sold in January 2015. They were asking $70k but then lowered the price to $62k if I recall. I don't know if it sold for that or less back then.
Now you are saying it sold for $70k

I need to be more precise. The car was listed for just under $70k ($69k+). To my inquiries the salesman told me there was little or no room on their asking price, and I am pretty sure the car sold within a week to ten days after they listed it. The salesman said it sold to a prior owner. I would draw from that that it sold at or near $70k but of course I do not know. I didn't make an offer on the car so can't say they would have turned down a lower number, and I don't know if they would have made a different deal to a buyer to whom they had done business before. I hope this helps.

I think that every salesman I have talked to regarding a BS
has told me the same thing
Looking at the recent price drops of private sellers
and still no sales speaks volumes about the real
world price of these cars - a price that is significantly
lower that the owners perceived selling price
And being red or white is not - at this time - making
a great deal of difference
And then you have to look at the owners mods
being factored into the price
Mods...
Prices have fallen faster the last 6/7 weeks
than I expected to see with some dealers
cutting their price - been awhile since they
did that
It will be interesting to see what prices do
as we get into the holidays and winter
Thank-You
