CLK63 BLACK SERIES TIRE SIZES

I am new to the BS world and wanted to know how wide can I go on the factory rims? 305 rear? 275 front? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

I tried searching for the same thing as I'm a new owner of a black clk73bs.inwent win stock sizes 265 30 a s 285 30 . I know the availability for those is slim to none , Ian's if the back when woild fit a 295 then the re are many options . But since the kumhos were cheap and in the sized plus the zr rating and XL load , I'll give them a shot . Plus hey have a 100 doller back offer for the ps91. They were designed for super cars . So far I've been on them and really don't have a complaint . They are much like the Michelin pss.

the rear rim is the problem . A 285 is the recommend widest tire . But I think a 295 will fit in some brands .

Yes your tire size is limited, if you want bigger tires you need new wheels.

Max you can do in the front is 275. In the back you can go to 305 without much issues. That's with new wheels, of course.

However, if you go crazy with the rear, you'll get understeer. Ideally would be 275/295, but that's rare to find.

Thank you. In your opinion what is a better set up stock rims with 275 and 295 or new rims with 275 305?

I was running 295/30 PSS in the rear and bottomed out going through an intersection and somehow managed to chew up the side wall and pull the fender a tiny bit. I don't know how I managed to do that with only a 295 but it ****ed the fender and the tire up pretty good. Swapped to factory spec in the rear to make sure I didn't screw myself any worse.

Thank you for your message. Question for you: Were you running any spacers? The 295s should have been ok!

Thank you! I will probably order the new PSS4 275/295 on the stock wheel this season then order some wheels 19X11 and go to 305. Any wheel suggestions other than Forgestars?

I don't know how the new Michelins run, but the prior versions ran wider than typical (the tire was very square) so that a 295 was equivalent to a 305 in other tires. I am have been running Bridgestone Re-11s in 275 and 305/30-19 for years with no issues on 9 inch and 11 inch aftermarket rims. So you should typically be fine with the Michelin 295 rears rubbing wise but the stock rim width and offset could still be an issue. The 275 Michelins on front with stock rims may also be an issue. Not sure if anyone else has run the equivalent of a 285 in the front on stock rims.

The stock rims are not wide enough to safely run anything beside stock width tires. I had some old CCW 18s which managed to squeeze in, and some new Finspeed 19s. They are 10 inch in the front and 11 in the back.

Basically the stock tires are maxed out on the stock rim width. Anything wider you'll need new rims. And they have to be custom made due to the crazy offsets on these wheels.

CCW is reasonably priced, but honestly their fit and finish isn't that great. I like Finspeed. Just google and check them out.

FYI recently put the stock wheels back on and purchased the new Corsa tires which are so much better than the prior "corsa system" as they no longer need to warm up like the prior ones.
