Let's Talk About Head Bolts

So I just bought a CLK63 BS with original Head Bolts.

Should I be worried about this?

27,000 Miles and full service history.

Anything else I should look out for?

500E - CLK BS
belt walking off and maybe the fuel pump sender cracking/leaking due to age. not too many headbolt issues that im aware of - car will run very hot in manual mode when in stop and go traffic, otherwise its pretty good

Considering the trend on value of the car, yes it is a risk.
There is some other stuffs you can do in preventive mode
- vave buckets repalced by SLS BS ones
- imrpoved adjuster camshaft plates

the engine has plenty of life left before you even need to worry about the valve buckets or adjuster plates. probably like 50kmi more life on the engine

I picked up the car today and drove 300 miles through some amazing mountain roads.
The car was totally amazing today.

After quite a few miles the car developed a small high pitched squealing sound at low speeds. This happened when it was hotter as opposed to when it had cooled down.

Having stated this, the temps were rock solid today.

Could this be a belt issue??

you could use the 'screw driver trick' with a bottle to listen to the pulleys and pinpoint which one is making noise

The noise has now gone.

The car is going in for a service in a month, so I will have them look at this.

With the car off and cool, see if you can shake the pulleys with your hand to see if any of them are loose

Yes I was there and it was a super cool event!

I colab with RS on quite a few projects and I am lucky to to get looked after all the time.

Current: 2007 ML63, 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series
having done my headbolts on the CLK black, i think its a well worth investment knowing its one less thing to go wrong
not pitching for you to DIY it, but find a local shop that you trust and is willing to do engine work
these motors are simple in the grand scheme of things
