2012 CLS 550 4matic
Also, when can I get my hands on one. I am considering ED unless I can get a dealer to sell at/near invoice.

I was in the dealer's yesterday and they showed me the car with a $7500.00 reduction in the MSRP from last year. The car's base price now is $84,500 and it now has 4 matic also. I've been looking and waiting for a 2012 E550 though. My wife and I sat in the CLS and it is indeed a beautiful car. I was wondering though what you thought of the back seat area plus the limited head room? The roof seems to really curve down at the back. We never have any more than 4 people in the car at once so the console in the middle isn't a problem. It just seemed tight back there. I read for 2012 Mercedes was suppose to make it a little roomier back there but it doesn't look like it to me.
I'm wondering why you chose to buy this car over the other models you may have considered like the E550 4 matic? How do you think the CLS will be for resale? Could you put snow tires on it?
Thanks and I await some of your opinions as it would help in my decision.

You can absolutely run winter tires on the CLS. It is the same powertrain as the E 550 Sedan.
Purchase decision is purely emotional - the E is obviously a more functional vehicle, but much less stylish. Expected residual values would suggest that the 2012 CLS 550 4M(54% on 36 months, 24k/year) is expected to be better from a resale perspective than the 2012 E 550 4M (will likely land at 51 or 52% on 36 months, 24k/year).

All of the initial reviews suggest it has made significant improvements with the driving dynamics. If not shopping will have to continue.
