2012 CLS 550 4matic

Has anyone read any reviews of the 4matic. I am wondering what the 0-60mph and 1/4 mile times are?

Also, when can I get my hands on one. I am considering ED unless I can get a dealer to sell at/near invoice.

A 2012 CLS for invoice? Smoking the good stuff are we...

Go for ED, if you're dealing with snow/rain 4Matic will help but otherwise it's pointless.

First one got to the local dealership today.

Haven't seen it yet but have seen the price/option sheet. $99K decently equipped plus tax.

Yes sir.

Only the CLS 63 was available prior. The 550 isn't even listed on the Canadian MB site yet.

Looking for opinions on the 2012 CLS 550

I'm in Canada and I've noticed a few Canadians on this CLS web page.

I was in the dealer's yesterday and they showed me the car with a $7500.00 reduction in the MSRP from last year. The car's base price now is $84,500 and it now has 4 matic also. I've been looking and waiting for a 2012 E550 though. My wife and I sat in the CLS and it is indeed a beautiful car. I was wondering though what you thought of the back seat area plus the limited head room? The roof seems to really curve down at the back. We never have any more than 4 people in the car at once so the console in the middle isn't a problem. It just seemed tight back there. I read for 2012 Mercedes was suppose to make it a little roomier back there but it doesn't look like it to me.
I'm wondering why you chose to buy this car over the other models you may have considered like the E550 4 matic? How do you think the CLS will be for resale? Could you put snow tires on it?

Thanks and I await some of your opinions as it would help in my decision.

Naturally, rear headroom in the CLS is lesser than the E-Sedan.

You can absolutely run winter tires on the CLS. It is the same powertrain as the E 550 Sedan.

Purchase decision is purely emotional - the E is obviously a more functional vehicle, but much less stylish. Expected residual values would suggest that the 2012 CLS 550 4M(54% on 36 months, 24k/year) is expected to be better from a resale perspective than the 2012 E 550 4M (will likely land at 51 or 52% on 36 months, 24k/year).

The back seats are anything but spacious, but we know that up front. I'm more interested in how it drives actually. We looked at a brand new '07 in early '09 that was a very good deal. I had it in my head that we were going to take it home that day....and then I drove it. It didn't matter what suspension setting we had it on, it felt like a luxury land barge.

All of the initial reviews suggest it has made significant improvements with the driving dynamics. If not shopping will have to continue.

Anyone receive their CLS 4matic yet? It appears they are showing up at dealers now. I am curious as to 0-60mph and 1/4 miles times. The RWD CLS550 tested well in the magazines.
