Fuel economy?

Fuel economy?
Well, I have been driving my new CLS550 4MATIC for a few days now, and I took it on a moderate highway drive from Portland to Salem today (about 50 miles). The overall economy for the whole trip (according to the trip computer) was 24 mpg, and when I tested just the highway portion, it was 27 (averaging 65-70mph). And this is with less than 500 miles on the odometer!
Is this just happy overestimation by the trip computer or is the mileage really this good? Are you guys getting anything similar? I will have to do some more experiments with city driving, but if this mileage is correct, my average economy will only be slightly less than my 2004 Acura TL.
I think the trip computer must be wrong...

I'm getting similar results. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I know it was around 20.5 mixed and 24+ on the highway. I have 500 miles on it so far.

My overall average since the last reset (600+ miles ago) has been 23.7mpg. On my usual commute to work (about 25 miles of mixed roads), I often see 26.1 mpg in the morning and 24.5mpg on the ride home (usually traveling a little faster).
On one longer trip (mostly highway @ 70+ mph), I averaged in excess of 27mpg. Thus far, I'm extremely pleased.

I picked up my new CLS in LA and drove to Phx. 400 miles averaging 65mph for the trip, 85mph once on the open road of the desert and average 28 mpg
My 2008 would average 26mpg.
The car rocks!

Driving slow on the highway the other day at around 50~60 mph (b/c of rain) I noticed a surprising 28.6 MPGs. Almost four above EPA estimate

I get about 20mpg mostly city driving.
IMO Keyes has turned to crap. They hired all the wrong new people there. They brought most of them over from Mercedes of Valencia (which were already crooks)
We bought all our cars from Keyes and they gave me some outrageous price for the new CLS. Mercedes of Calabasas was great to me. Was in and out within 90 minutes also.
