2012 CLS550 Launch Edition
Painted side markers

I am expecting my painted side markers any day now. I got them through Evosport to match my Launch Edition. Does anyone have pictures and a walkthrough on how to remove and replace the side markers? I have read older forums both here and on other websites but would love to see how someone did this on a 2012 CLS550.

Also, since I will be using painted markers, what bulbs should I use? I could leave the originals or replace them with something less annoying so long as they wouldn't cause any error codes.

How opaque is the paint? You may not need to replace the bulbs but remove them if they do not shine thru. Can't wait to see them on.

I don't know about the paint yet, they come next week. As for the bulbs, if I don't use any won't that cause an error?

If they don't shine thru I guess you can leave your old bulbs in there as it will not really matter.

I finally got them!

My painted side markers came today...finally. Now I just need to muster up the courage to swap them out myself. They look really good in the box...

They look good, let us know how the install goes. I went to evosport but couldn't find them. Did you get ones listed under another car?

Call and ask for Jose in the parts department. They have them, they haven't updated the website.

Not yet. I am really nervous about the markers not fitting perfectly. I'm actually considering taking them to the dealer and asking them to put them in. I havee searched for a walkthrough of sorts and have not really found one that is easy to understand. Pictures of the process would probably make me comfortable enough to do it myself.

Texan.
Check out the w212 forum as many have done diy on side markers. I'm pretty sure it's the same. Dealer will charge you big bucks I'm sure.

It's http://www.evosport.com

Sales:
888.520.9971
M-F 8AM-6PM Pacific Time (PT)

I think they sponsor this site so I shouldn't have a problem sharing that info. Ask for the parts department and Jose is your guy.
