proper offset for 2014 CLS550
I recently purchased a set of staggered TSW Jerez wheels: 20x 9 front with et30 and rears with 20x10 et 44 for my 2014 CLS500.
After about 1k miles on the tires i started to hear a "rubbing" noise. Long story short, the wheels tore into the dust boot of the air matic strut.
has anyone else run into this problem?

Toyo's: 245/35/20 and it rubbed and destroyed the dust boot (previous)
Nitto's: 235/35/20 and i can hear the a suspicious noise (rubbing) and i have had the tires less then 100 miles driven.

Use 5mm or 10mm spacers upfront with 245/35-20 tires. Do not use 235/35-20 on CLS. At least two on these boards I know of use 20x9 et20 (same as et30 with 10mm spacers) with 245/35-20 tires upfront (one is also lowered) with no ill effects.

Why should I not use the 235/35/20 tires on my CLS?

offsets are wrong front and back.. like three said put 10mm spacers upfront and you will be flush and no rubbing. As far as the rear goes idk what tire size you have but 44et on a 10" wide lets say 285 tire your offset should be 25et. "Y not use a 235/35 on a 9" front" ?.. well it would look dumb/stretched, less wheel protection, and most important reason.. the load rating of the tire would not support the weight of the CLS. Do your research the 1st time around and you wouldn't have issues.
