Not the best quality video but took this with my iPhone. Will do a better video soon but i was communicating with some folks here and said I would post so here you go.
I had this done at a local shop in Vegas. Resonator delete and added dual 3" tips all for $300. I really wanted to add the dual tips from a 63 but did not want to deal with getting a new diffuser. They cut the resonator off at a particular area that if I wanted to put the stock back on it would be pretty seamless and not very noticeable and would only cost me $60 to do it. I trade in every year or so, so I kept the stock resonator and tips in my garage and will put them on when I trade in.
Hopefully you can get an idea with the clip that it does have a bit of a rumble and when your driving down the road it actually sounds pretty decent and not loud but a bit throaty. For $300 can't beat this mod in my opinion.

Sorry guys. I think it should be fixed now.
Also here is another video I took today.

Sounds good.....very subtle but definitely a noticeable difference. Did you just remove the resonator and replaced it with a straight pipe or an x-pipe?
Thank you.
I believe these cars have 4 resonators right? I removed the back ones which is essentially under the trunk where the tips were connected to so he ran a straight pipe I would guess maybe a foot long (essentially the length to make up the size of the resonator) if I recall correctly then welded the dual tips together on that pipe.
I wish it has a slight bit more burble sound but I guess I will have to wait to get a cls63 next to get the actual amg sound.

Sounds like you cut off the mufflers and added a straight pipe in it's place. If that's the case, I'm surprised it's not much louder. If you want a louder "growl" then you should go ahead and cut off the actual resonator and replace it with an x-pipe.Originally Posted by lvpete

Just came back from the muffler shop. In and out in about 30 mins. $125 + tax to remove the resonator and replace with straight pipes. NICE growl, guess I'll never use the radio again!!!!!
