I'm not into racing my car either but was just looking for validation of the power improvements. Although I definitely felt / perceived the power increase it was good to have real data as well.
It was easy for me as had it all done at one place (IAP Racing in VA) - OE Tuning Tune was done at this shop while I waited (bench tune, didn't have to send the ECU in).

I haven't done much testing yet, but the difference is very noticeable, the car pulls extremely hard! I'm sure if it were not for the 4 wheel drive, I'd be burning crazy rubber...the car lunges forward like a cheeta when you step on it...at any speed!Originally Posted by ffr2014

How is OE Tune compare to those like PresserTech, Racechips, Weistec, Rentech, Eurocharged? Could you be more detail about the ECU out come?Originally Posted by SALES@OETUNING

I’m curious about where the gains come from and does the tune allow the use of 91 Octane or you need to start using 94?
Oe tuning has different tunes available for different octane levels. I have the 93 octane tune as 93 is readily available where I live

We test on CA91 octane premium gas here in California. We can also tune for higher octane premium pump gas like 93, 94 as well. We always recommend using the highest quality fuel available for best performance.Originally Posted by VirtualRain

I would recommend installing a 91-93 Octane tune that can be used with both 91 and 93 Octane fuels. This way no need to retune for use with CA91 fuel.Originally Posted by Gee_115

Vendor Tune Selection
After calling various vendors to discuss their tunes, pricing and the overall process I decided to go with OE Tuning. Jeremy and Ryan were great throughtout the entire process. They answered all my questions, provided a detailed document on how to remove and install the ecu and remained in contact (via email and telephone) with me the entire time to let me know they received and shipped my ecu.
The Tuning Process:
ECU removal and install was very very simple. The entire tuning process took less than 3 full days. I shipped it via overnight to them in cali from nyc on monday morning and received it back wed by 10:30am.
Performance
I LOVE the tune. Throttle response is far greater and the added power is very very noticeable. The car pulls very hard throughtout the entire rpm range. Feels like an entirely new car. At 20mph in 75 degree weather I am able to get the traction control to engage on the 4matic! To gauge its new performance I had a chance to see how it compares to a modded E55 wagon. A close friend of mine (and member here) has a 2006 E55 Wagon with modded supercharger pulley (equivalent to 168 crank pulley). We had a chance to make several runs last night from a stop and roll. From a dig the 4matic advantage is very clear as the car would launch very hard and jumjp out about 2 car lengths and slowly pull another 1/2-1 car length before we shut down. From a roll the car would slowly pull to about 1 1/2-2 cars everytime before we shut down.
I have been racing cars at the track for years and based on how the car feels, I am confident that the car will easily run from 11.9-12.2 based on weather and launch.
Overall I am extremely happy with my choice and new found power. Hopefully this review helps anyone thinking of getting their 550 Bi-turbo tuned!
Weistec is far better 540 Horsepower, 715 Ft-Lbs Torque at $1,499 very fair price.Originally Posted by Juice1979
