Red face CLS 2012 vs. E Class 2014/2015?

Hey guys,

So I am trying to decide between these two beauties and am having a hard time doing so.

Can anyone shed some light on the reliability and maintenance as well as anything else? As I have read in few forums that for some reason E Class is much better in terms of reliability and running costs.

But as far as design goes, I prefer CLS back and interior due to a boat load of wooden elements.

Also, do both of these share same “luxury” features like massage seats or is one better over the other?

I had a '14 CLS and a '13 and '14 E sedan and would choose a '12 CLS over any year E sedan. IMO, the CLS has better interior and exterior styling and is much more rare.

Features/options seem pretty similar. I only keep my cars 6 to 9 months so I can't comment on reliability and running costs. But since they are very similar vehicles I would venture to say its a wash between them.

As an owner of a 2012 CLS Launch Edition, it is no contest. My friend has a E550, same year and they are different cars. The CLS is truly a sport "sedan" and the E a softer, more traditional sedan. With the Sport and Comfort features on the CLS, I feel I get the best of both worlds. Gas mileage foe that V8 is awesome, too. I average 23mpg mostly highway but with a fair amount of city mixed in.

BTW, the reliability has been great. 48K on the clock and very few issues.

CLS550!

Not because I have it, but if you're going to spend the money might as well go for all the perks from car to personal. I think the costs might be different sue to the fact that there are also SO many E classes running amuck. When it comes to luxury it really is personal opinion, but for me the CLS gives off a CEO vibe with the means to prove it.
