Silver seat switch install?

Hi. Has anyone replaced the seat switch with silver replacements? for the e-class seems like all you have to do is pull it off and then snap in the replacement. I tried with a glk loaner, but it wouldn't budge and didn't want to break it. What about the cls?

Thanks in advance!

New '12 cls550 owner.

Thanks for the quick response! Probably more than I want to take on. I'll check to see if the silver "cover" switches are not cheesy. Thanks again.

Not sure if you are talking about the seat adjustment switches. But I bought mine off eBay and its a plug and play without taking the door liner apart.

Just pull it off carefully, but the headrest switch is a bit trickier.

It's totally plug and play. Grab a thin plastic wedge, slip it under center on the existing switches, and they come right off. Very easy DIY project.

Bought mine off of eBay also... 5-10 mins and you're done... very simple.

Does anybody have a video or pictures of the procedures and what is tricky about the headrest button?

When you take off the headrest part ... You seem to be breaking it free. I guess "reversible" with super glue. I think I'm going with the cover style since it is reversible and the quality of the material seems slightly better. Also it doesn't cover the backlight, though there is obviously less gap..

I did not want to hear about the super clue part
Can you recommend a good seller for the cover style chrome buttons?

I think all the cover style are the same. The replacement all seem to be slightly dented.

I wonder about the quality of those covers. If look at the bottom of the page where there is a large image of the covers, there are multiple defects on the parts, I count at least 3.

I got both. The cover style look pretty good. No denting as compared to the other style I noticed. The edge that dits directly against the door could be smoothed/sanded but don't really notice when installed.

I installed a set of the "replacement style" on my C204, absolutly love em. I bought mine thru ebay which included the removal tool, you could get away using a flat head screw driver though. Super easy to install, I had the stock buttons removed and new ones on in under 5 minutes. They really bring out a good look and given the price I feel it's a no brainer on installing or not.
