Darkgable's build thread
So I decided that I should go ahead & start a build thread to chronicle what I'll do to the car. It's a '14 CLS550 4matic, Diamond White exterior, black interior, burl walnut trim, & the sport package. I'll update this thread as I go & I don't have a timeframe I'm abiding by.
So here she is when I picked her up in April from MB Sugarland here in the Houston area.
I quickly started looking for wheels. I decided to go with the Carlsson 1/10s in the Brilliant Edition finish. 20x8.5 & 20x10.5. 255s & 305s.

Since then I've lowered the car on links. I'd like to really thank fellow forum member wlee69 for sending the links out to me free of charge. Stand up guy. I had the dealership install the links since I had to have some work done there with the tires off anyway.
This set of pics is with the car in the raised state for speed bumps, driveways, etc.

I've done one small mod. I added the matching Carlsson door pins & removed the cheap looking plastic ones. I've only done the front doors so far because the rear doors in the CLS are not of the screw variety. I'll take it to the dealership & have them take the door off & all when it's time for my 1st oil change.
That last pic is the perfect example of why I hate the burl walnut trim. Just does not go with the black interior in my opinion. Anyway....Let me know what you guys think. Thanks for viewing.

Thank you. I originally wanted HREs because coming from trucks I've never put real money into my wheels, but I just didn't wanna pay that much at the time. I looked at ADV.1, Brixton, Modulare Forged, & a few others, but I didn't think they fit what I was looking for. The Carlsson's give a great balance of sportiness & classiness. Also, when I was ordering these the pictures do not do the concave on the rear wheel justice. It has a seriously deep concave.
These 2 pics I took really show how deep the concave is.

Hi Maurice,
Thank you again for your business and support...I might be a bit bias, but that wheel really does look amazing on your car...we just sent another set to a customer in FL with the exact same setup and she has the exact same color CLS. We provided the complete package with tires and factory MB tpm sensors installed...customer just had to remove the packaging and put them on the car and go.
The CLS 218 platform is really an amazing looking car, and we also have some of the front spoilers and RS lips for the 550 and 63 in stock for the 2012-2014 models.
Thanks again Maurice, we really appreciate your continued support!
Here are some pics to show how we package the wheels and tires for shipping, this is really important to document when we do every shipment, that way if the shipping company damages the wheels, we have proof that they were properly packaged and secure.
