CSL550 Side Marker Removal?

Hi everyone. I just purchased a set of clear LED side markers for my 2013 CLS550 [Non AMG]. I tried to remove the existing amber side marker on the passenger side 1st, by peeling back the wheel well under the fender, but there seems to be no space to get access to the side marker, because there's a metal piece/bracket blocking access to get behind the marker.
Can someone please help shed some light on this matter? Any help will be greatly appreciated...Thnx in advance

I just did this yesterday. If you removed the plastic rivet in the wheel well you should be able to pull the liner back far enough to get your whole hand in. There is a tab about 1/2" wide on the upper corner closest to the wheel that you push to pop the light out. After you figure out the first light, the second will take about 5 minutes.

Thanks Buddy...Did it, but now, after installing the DEPO led side markers, I get an Error code on my display to check my Left and Right Side markers

Might need to power cycle your vehicle to reset the SAM. If those markers aren't canbus enabled, you'll need to wire in load resistors.

I got depo lights too, but went with the single chrome painted bulb. No problems.

I had those depo LED things on my e550. They were junk. First they set off the bulb warnings as you found out, then within a couple months I had an LED out on each of them.

The ones to get are the ones that are the clear with the chrome bulb.

Take care,

George

I think I will send these back and get the clear with regular silver bulbs.

Or you can go clear with canbus LED bulbs. You'll need a set of 194 wedge bulbs. Silver bulbs will look ok when off as you won't be able to optically see, but will give out a pale sickly white color when lit at night. Plug and play LED bulb however will either give out a brilliant white or deep amber color, and still be clean and clear during the day.

So the depo led side markers (linked) set off errors and fail quickly? They get good reviews in general on Amazon. If so that sucks, I just got a pair. Wonder if I should try my luck.

UPDATE!!! I spoke to the people that sold them to me and just found out that they now sell them with resistors already attached...mine didn't have them and they will gladly exchange them for me.
These are the newer ones in the pic.

Did you ever get yours working properly?

I just got a set - have to check if they have resistors or if I have to get out the soldering gun. We ordered Depo LED side markers and Tail lights for my partner's s550 at the same time and they worked fine with no errors.

I haven't had a chance to pop these in yet.

Take care,

George

Side marker tab?

Hi, I can't seem to find this 1/2" tab. Can you provide more clues to how I can find this tab? And which direction specifically I need to "push" to pop he light out?

Thanks
