mbrace WTF? 2012 CLS 550
Tried to sign in online. They didn't like my VIN, so said to call. Called, they said push the button in the car to sign up. Went to the manual (page 271 top left). It says press and hold the "i" button for over 2 seconds. All I get is Verizon telling me I'm not activated. I was supposed to connect to Mercedes, not my own phone carrier. 
Do do 2012 CLS's even have mbrace?
Should I be going to the dealer? What have I done wrong?

Got about 4 different stories, so drove to dealer and consulted tech specialist (who knew more than all the service reps). These symptoms mean it has been deactivated and pushing buttons won't do it. It's a re-connection process that requires them to have the car for a couple of hours. So service appointment.

before going to the dealer try if you can do it yourself. what you do is press all the mbrace buttons simultaneously (sos,info,roadside) and hold them down for a few seconds until the buttons start flashing. then you will hopefully hear something like please wait wile your system is being programmed. btw verizon is the carrier for the mbrace service so thats the carrier the car is contacting its not your own phone.
if the "3 button press" doesnt get you going then yes the tech will have to "deprovision" the control unit then call in to mbrace and get new msn,min,mdn numbers to assign to the unit and then they can reactivate the system manually. good luck.

Yes. I tried the 3 button approach too. Failed. And I think the service is for free, whether they just want you to sign up, or it is covered under the warranty. Though I may get a surprise.
