40k Service Recommendations!

Hey guys i am doing my 40k Service and looking at the service booklet it is recommended to replace the rear axle differential fluid, limited slip differential only.

Anyone got an idea how this is done, id like to see before i decide to take it to the dealership.

Opinion given by a long time multiple MB owner, a 25 year aircraft mechanic, a 30 year auto mechanic, and just some guy who has seen MB tranny fluid being drained from 30k mile MB's. Spent and burned up every time.
Spend the $300 now. Save $7k.
Service your transmission. Lol

The 550 doesn’t have a limited slip diff so you don’t need to worry about that

You've got me worried now. I took my car for a check over when I got it @44k miles and they said the transmission fluid needed changing. I thought they were just trying it on as they suggested other things needed doing that, when I went to do them, didn't need doing.

My local dealership quoted me $550 for the transmission fluid change alone. I'm not sure about brake fluid, I need to get mine done.

You're probably looking at something like that from a dealership, yeah. I'd have a look around at some independent shops though, you'll probably be able to get it done for a lot less $$

30k for trans has always been an old school rule of thumb. However, I'd say 40k to 50k is when I'd do it.

Yeah? Would it to much to ask if you can record it or make a video? If not just a process you used on how to change it?
