2014 Mercedes cls 550 4MATIC braking issues
New on this forum! Recently just bought a cls 550. But I noticed the brakes aren’t that good. Car only has 34k on it, but if I’m going high speed and press the brake the car starts swinging from the back and I feel like the brakes aren’t strong enough for these cars. I checked the brake pads and they look pretty good, almost new. Any idea why this happens?

I have a similar issue. It feels like the car isn’t going to stop in time and the longer I’m braking the worse it gets. I figured that whoever had it before me put ****ty pass on it. Have you checked that you have OEM pads?

As above, maybe it's just not the correct pads on the car. Only way to check would be remove them and see the writing on them. MB pads will have MB part # and logos on them.

ok so it could be a couple different issues, but I have 40K on mine and had something similar; took it to the dealer and alignment was ok but the brake disc were (both sides) warped on the front. It is a common issue and very expensive to fix OEM....when I get around to it I plan to upgrade the entire system

Not yet, very expensive...the dealer wants a crazy amount to replace rotors....cheaper to get new rotors and everything from racebrake. Then I started looking at getting an upgrade package (+calipers) and just put it all on hold. I have the CPU upgrade and feel that the car needs more stopping power in general for the increased horsepower (and my subsequent speeding problem)
