Question Wheels 20x10 20x11...

I'm looking for wheels for my new black CLS. I've been doing things to it and have a few more things to work on.

To the point, is anyone here running 20x10 and 20x11 wheels? I had 20x9 20x10.5 on my W211 but I sold them. I wanted something new for the 218.

If anyone has this setup, pls post pictures. Though it's an aggressive fitment, I've talked to wheel manufacturers saying that it will fit, I also want to see pictures.

Could you tell us which wheel manufacturer said it will fit? Also, what size of tire do you want to use on the 20x10 and 20x11? What is the offset on those wheel did the manufacturer recommend in order to clear without rubbing?

I was looking at Rohana RC10 20x10 20x11. But I did not ask about the offset, wasn't my mind. I should have asked for it. But he said that it will be an aggressive fitment. 20x11 would fit 285 wide tires.

But I want wider than that. Somewhere like 295 or 305 on 11in wide wheels. Not sure how much space I will have left or would I have to roll the fenders? I haven't checked how much rolling space rear fenders have, sometimes they don't have extra folded panel to be rolled. I was thinking if I could fit 295/30/20 or 305/30/20 lol

Reason I want those sizes is because a little later, I'm looking at Weistec ECU tune. So I would like to have enough rubber on there to support the power and still have the grip. If I get the tires stretched on 20x11...wont have much grip left.

I'm going to wait a little and see if others have done it and what sizes they have on, because I'll also be lowering it soon.

I really don't think the RC10 will have the right one to fit on 20x10 front and 20x11 rear for the CLS. You should really ask them and make sure they really know what they talking about.

Yea It could/could not fit. That's why I'm here looking if anyone has those specs on their 218. Also, I will get in contact with Rohana again to double check with someone else and see what that person says.

I'm in no rush to buy wheels. I take my time and find the best option. Last time, I took 5 months to order wheels for my W211 lol And they were a great fit on the W211. Loved it. So I'm taking my sweet time and getting all the info I can get.

I just talked to a dude at Vivid Racing and he advised not to go with 20x10 20x11 set up lol. Said 20x11 will stick out a little, not sure by how much. He said 20x9 20x10/10.5 is the best option. Though they are bigger and wider than E class, fitments are about the same. Even after lowering, not sure how much will the wheel get tucked in.

So I'm back to looking for 20x9 20x10.5 size lol Tire wise, he mentioned 305/25/20 would (should) be the max. But I'd go with the profile of 30. 25 is very low.

I'm also wanting to go with gold/bronze wheels with some gold/bronze accents to the star logo front and back since mine is black, it'll stand out more.

If you go to Renntech's website, they use 20x11 in the rear with 305/25/20 ET +36 without any problem. For the front, it's really depend on what size of tire you want to use. However, in order to avoid more under steer, you should put something big enough to match the rear.

You know, I think 10.5 should be okay in the rear. Which means you'll have more space in the rear to add bigger tires and a bigger profile. Though 11 was what I wanted, I think 10.5 should be okay. Because with 11s, you'd have to go low profile, I'm not going for 25 prof. That's too low for me. Will be a bumpier ride and wheel would be more prone to cracks or whatnot from potholes and such.

You can easily put on 295 tires on 10.5, even 305. A friend of mine put on 315 on his, was a perfect fit, but he chose his wheels poorly and they stuck out quite a bit. Ugly lol.

My ideal tire size would be 295/30/20 or 305/30/20. I don't plan to go below 30 prof.

Did you pull the trigger on wheels and tire fitments?
if you did can you post pictures of the wheels and tires, and what you think of the fitment. I'm looking to do something really similar with my CLS.

Nah man I haven't, yet. I'm back in school so I got a little distant from that. Plus, it's so hard to choose the perfect wheels that you'll love for the rest of your life lol

So since this is the same chassis as the E class, I was advised to go with the same specs as the E class. 11s could be done, but depends if you're going to lower your car and how much, so the camber will tuck the wheels in. But the prof will be def 25. I will be sticking to 20x9/9.5 and 20x10/10.5 and go wider tires.

I'm always on the search for the wheels, but it's hard lol I'm picky about them.

However, I did lower it tho. Module just cost me $470, including tax, and lower/raise whenever you want. Just takes less than a minute. And painted the front grill star in bronze(ish) paint...not sure how I feel about it yet lol

oh okk cool yeah im probably gonna go with 9.5 & 10.5 with meaty tires, I may do that module thing too cuz I like the idea of lowering a car but I hate driving lowered cars, my old Infiniti G37 was a pain to drive over speed bumps and stuff cuz it was so lowered. Thanks for all the help though, and I did see a few threads on here for wheels that weren’t that bad pricing wise if you want ill pm them to you. Also what module did you get and from where?

sure send them in. or you can just email them to me @ balroop12@gmail.com

I mean i had my W211 E350 lowered on coils, yes I had to go slow over speed bumps and such, but it wasn't as painful as you describe it yourself lol I loved the car tho. It was my first own personal car and the first one i did some stuff to. I would buy it again lol rather the E55/63 sometime in the future. I love the W211 body style.

Here's the link to where my friend and I bought it from...but it says out of stock
http://loweringmodule.com/lomo-obd-s...ion-module-t1/

My friend bought one that was compatible with GL550.

Here's one from eBay. Must be the same, but pic shows diff color, but on the reviews here on MBWORLD, I read that though the pic shows white module, he received it blue. LoweringModule.com shipped out blue to me and my friend.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-BE...w-kg:rk:1:pf:0

From eBay, it might take 1 or 2 weeks before you get your item, loweringmodule.com delivered their module to my address in like less than a week. I think they are based on in Canada? I heard.

Another reason why I went with CLS was due to its Air suspension, compared to BMW 650/550 or E550. Lowering coils will cost 1k to 1500 and not that easy to change the height afterward. With this, press a few buttons and.......!!!! haha
