CLS400 Performance mufflers?
Maybe X/H pipe in the place of resonator lower the drone? Not sure.
Me personally, isn't fully satisfied with my current set-up lol though Sec Cats are still there. I want de-catted DPs lol. Just can't find someone local to fabricate them for me :/
The straightpiping, I actually like it, but sometimes it's too loud for me and drones too much. For sure if you want it only for acceleration bursts and cold start sound, it's pretty nice and loud. When you're cruising, it's relatively quiet but there's for sure droning.
My current setup with an xpipe and aftermarket mufflers is what I prefer. Very loud coldstart, not a lot of drone, and quiet when cruising.
I was able to get a local shop to fabricate me cat-less downpipes, replace secondary cats with straight pipe, replaced resonator with X pipe, and installed the muffler back on. It's loud, but not super loud where I would start to hate daily'ing it. Just my opinion.
I uploaded two videos on that link. In that video, I removed the resonator and mufflers, so they were straight pipes with no X or H pipe. It was decently loud, but since my phone was kinda close to record, it might sound a bit more louder than in-person. If you removed resonator + mufflers, you will get some drone noise on the freeway, but it won't be enough to drive your ears crazy lol. Some light music or a conversation, you won't notice the drone. The passengers probably won't notice the drone at all.
Adding X/H pipe won't make the car louder compared to just straight pipes. It will refine the noise with some exhaust note change, but it won't make it much louder than all straights. Cold starts can be loud here.
Currently, I have cat-less downpipes, X pipe, and stock mufflers on. It's not super loud, still. I would say it's roughly about as loud as it was with resonator and mufflers off.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Here's a video of how my current burble tune sounds with the exhaust completely stock:
I feel like I'm not getting anywhere close to the amount of burbles or pops that I see on YouTube (Mercedes cars with stock exhausts + a burble tune).

Most people delete secondary cats, not as significant but slight noise increase.
I'd imagine flowmaster super 40's would sound great, but not a lot of people have changed mufflers.
also can you let me know what you did with your car to make it louder
Beautiful car!
Thanks

QUOTE=regigoaks;7803630]Hi guys,
I just did a resonator and muffler delete to my 2016 CLS400. It sounds amazing; but after driving it for a weekend, I felt like it's too loud sometimes.
I am thinking of getting performance mufflers to make the sound less annoying and better, anybody have recommendations on good mufflers for a CLS400?
