What kind of tires are you all using ?

I have been having tire issues since I bought the car in may, I was going to wait to spend a little more on some quality tires and now The time has come and I’m thinking Yokohama advan sport as bc I’m getting all 4 on the 19 in amg wheels for 800 out the door. Now I didn’t order yet bc a friend of mine swears by pirellis, but he tracks the car and I’m not. I do want more stickiness and better handling so I figured I’d come on here and to get some opinions on tires. Thanks !

Got tuned by OE and went with Pilot Supersports, 255 fronts and 285 rears without any traction problems, but I also do have the 4matic which helps significantly. Use a 255 square setup of Pirelli Sottozeros for winter here in Canada though.

I have stock wheels and tires which are 18” AMG and Continental DWS I believe. I can run out and confirm later. I will say that I do wish I had more grip. Since I have a wheel and tire protection plan I am stuck w what the dealer gives me.

I was going to get them but they are almost double in cost than what I can get the Yokohama’s for but those are nice from what I hear. I still might go with those.

Continental DWS here. They’re much quieter than the P-Zeros that came on the car

I have the P-Zeros with about half the tread remaining, however, they are so damn noisy, I am going to replace them. I've had the DWS Contis on two previous cars and found them to be excellent in every measurable way, so I think I'll go with them.

Not same car, but same power level and tire size.

I run Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5, good grip, low noise, better fuel mileage.

Similar situation for me. 19” Launch Edition wheels and the Pirelli P Zeros with half tread we’re so noisy that I thought my rear end was going bad. Also needed to go to A/S tires so was going to get a set of Conti DWS, as I’ve had good luck with them before but ended up going for something different. Chose the Yoko Advan AS based on reviews and price. Couple thousand miles in and I’m very happy. Probably don’t handle quite as well as the Pirellis when new but I don’t track it and with the ride and quietness I feel the Yokos were a great choice.

Rear: oem Conti procontact all seasons. Replaced under tire road hazard warranty. No problems.

Front: Bridgestone potenza RE980 AS. Cheaper than contis after Costco install. Sharp directional response - better than OEM contis. But there is a strange hum at 50 mph. Solution is to drive at other speeds, not 50 mph

Looked at Yokos in the past and pricing was attractive. But when tire insurance pays for Contis. you accept it as is.

went with the yokos after checking the other ones were basically double price after I shopped around and they were just installed and it’s raining and they are awesome. For what I do which is mostly running around town they are much better than the mixed tires I had on it when I bought the car. I will probably beef them up once I get my trans upgrade and tune completed but I needed something right away and for 8 and change installed it was a no brainer. Thanks for the input everyone
