possible alignment problem ?
Ran over a piece of pvc plastic and gotta flat went back to discount tire and they replaced tire but told me on both my rears I have something wrong because the inside of both rear tires are worn really bad especially for just purchasing the tires. The fronts are perfect, So I attached a picture of the wheel to show the wear from the old tire and the wear is pretty much Identical on the other tire I had to order another one bc the threads are about to come out. I called the Mercedes shop that does the Maitenence on my car and they said it could be alignment so I want to know if anyone else has had this problem with their tires,
thanks guys !

Check out this site, many people are experiencing what you have. I think a good alignment shop or a good dealer will be able to help you. Marv

It could be the alignment, unless you have your car lowered quite a bit. How many miles have you put on those tires?
Mine are getting there too, but I have mine lowered at least 1.5 inches, so I know it's the camber that's killing the inner thread on them. My last tire that went flat had the wires showing lol the outer thread was fine.

mine is not lowered but I only drive the car in sport mode on both ,drive mode and suspension I don’t know if that matters but I know sport suspension is lower than the comfort suspension I believe . I have about 7,000 miles on them

Sport mode doesn't lower enough to give that much wear. What I would suggest is to simply replace the tires and get an alignment done. At this point, you need new tires anyway. That's too much badlness for 7k miles on a tire. Also, what is the treadwear number on the tire? The lower the number, the quicker it'll wear out. Mine is rated at, I think, 240-280. Same tires I ran on my older W211 and they'd last me abt 7k miles and I would flip them inside out and another 3-4k miles before they go bald. Mind you, my W211 was just as lowered as my W218 or even more closer to the ground. Front tire was completely tucked in and almost the whole tire in the rear as well.
Also, it matters the way you drive. Since they come neg camber stock and you do too many hard pulls/burnouts...then the number of miles would be out of the equation.

cool and I ordered another tire anyway and I will be having my mechanic check out suspension when they do the a3 service, they recently did a b service on it at 100k i wasn’t sure if they checked out suspension or not. I’m not to good mechanically so when it tells me to service Vehicle I just trust it and take it there and pay whatever it is lol but I would think when they looked over the airmatic suspension they might of seen something but I guess not. I’m hoping they can see what it is, i wasn’t so fond of the tires due to the fact they were fairly new and even with light rain at red light I was really spinning the tires and I was being light on the gas as well which is why I didn’t think the tire was that good considering the feeling of a lack of traction. But maybe if it is an alignment issue that gets fixed might be a better tire in the rain when riding properly aligned. I do trust the mechanic will be thorough in what they are going to do to inspect it but I love coming here to get some real life comparisons!
