19” wheel fitment

Found some 19” wheels I like... 19x8.5 front +35mm and 19x9.5 +40mm. According to my calculations with 255/35 front and 285/30 rear PLUS 10mm spacers everything should fit flush.

Does it sound right to you guys? If not please advise.

I am in NY and the roads aren't all that good, so I wanted a nice flush fit with as much rubber as I can stuff without rubbing.

I would go 18" with taller sidewalls than OE sizing. That would give more protection from bad roads. Marv

Ditto with Tbbt CLS. I have 18" on mine and not considering it being a smooth daily driver. If you're interested in a smoother drive, the bigger the rims the more you loose.

About the spacers - someone mentioned on their thread same thing - 10mm should do the trick.

You can run a 285/35 rear as well for more tire sidewall.

Second that as well as 245/40-19 fronts.

Thanks all. My stockies are 18's so I wanted an upgrade, plus some nasty bends on 1-2 wheels from the previous owner so it has slight vibration.

245/40/19 Front and 285/35/19 Rear might be the "fatter" setup I can fit and be at minimal compromise on comfort and looks. Can anyone running this tire setup post some pics?

If bending wheels is a concern, one does not go to lower profile tires. Either stay with the current 18" (new wheels of course if current are bend) or keep similar/same profile tires as 18s but on 19s.

I'll have a 255/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rear setup when the spacers I ordered on @threeMBs advice come in. Going to be running H&R 10mm on the fronts and 22mm on the rears. If you've bent/crack wheels before then you should stay at 18, it will allow for greater sidewall tires. I cracked my stock 18's but still went 19 because aesthetics... I just dodge potholes everywhere I go now.

You might need spacers on the front too. Had to put spacers on mine to clear the brake calipers up front. Rims came with a +40 offset. Put them on and they were on the calipers. Ended up needing 15mm to clear the calipers properly. But, depending on the rims, you may or not need spacers up front too.

I got OE 19"s on my CLS550 and they have a nice ride, I'm in an area where potholes are a problem during the winter but so far haven't crunched a rim yet. I double down on the H&R spacers have them on my S550 they do give a nice stance to your ride.

Are you guys talking about potholes on the freeway cracking the wheels or on the streets? I believe on freeway? CLS does have a harsher ride, it's the only thing that I hate about the CLS, but everything else is pretty good. Wish the ride was tad a bit more comfy. Previous owner ran RFTs in front, those were banging up the front whenever I went over a pothole or a little bump.
I'm in Cali so potholes are kind of rare on the freeways here. Streets do have some potholes, but not many. I've ran thru some rough road bumps on the freeway quite a few times as it was my daily commute and even over a concrete block lol luckily I haven't had any cracked wheels. (That was my older W211 on 20s).

@nysupraman and if you're going to go with 19s, try to bump up the tire profile on front and rear. The numbers you posted, 255/35 and 285/30 are stock sizes. Sometimes car felt the bump even on those sizes.
