Front end suspension issue
I have a 2013 cls550 4matic with around 80k miles. I have been having some issue with the front end suspension. I hear clunking noise when I hit bumps, and some instability while breaking and sometimes just while driving, worse with high speeds.
1 year ago I had a strut bushing replaced for similar issue on the passenger side. The resulted in a fix of the problem. (When I brought my car to a different shop last week the guy told me the previous place didn’t do anything at all, maybe just a temporary fix on the old bushing)
last week I had the forward arm bushings and sway bar links replaced on both sides.
Since I got it fixed the last time, there is NO change in the problem. I have no idea of what it can be. It’s killing me. The guy told me the shaking was likely from my wheels being bent, I spent 300 to fix the four without any obvious bends. Then I had one tire with 6mm less thread so they said it could be that. Changed the tire. Still having the issue.
This is killing me. I just need the car fixed.
does anyone know what the possible
problem is? Also, can anyone recommend a good Mercedes mechanic in Queens?

- do more diagnosis and post your findings here. Your description does not narrow down the root cause.
- start replacing items one by one until you find a solution. With a vehicle behaving as you describe, it sounds like there is considerable maintenance required.
- take it to a shop and tell them to "fix it". This is probably the most expensive option.
What does instability mean? Use more words.
Leading candidates in my view:
- upper strut mount
- strut (shock)
- front lower control arm bushings
- stabilizer bar bushings
- lower ball joint
- upper ball joint
- tie rod outer joint
- tie rod inner joint
- steering rack bushings
- tires damaged
- wheels damaged
- wheels out of balance
You need to get to a known good state. It doesn't sounds like you're there, so you need more diagnostic work.
