CLS 550 AC Compressor + Mounts

Hello everyone, I have a 2012 Mercedes CLS 550 Base that NEEDS a new A/C compressor (I live in Phoenix) and was recommended that I also replace the serpentine belt, both motor mounts, and the transmission mount. I've ordered all the parts from FCP Euro, and I don't quite see a YouTube video that has my exact model. I know that the 2012 - 2014 E Class are nearly identical, but I'm seeing conflicting DIY procedures for getting those engine mounts off, including dropping the exhaust, pulling out the front axles, or my favorite, just lowering the steering rack. Is there now a best practice agreed upon by us driveway mechanics? I don't have a lift. Also, there is the question of what order I should do things -- I believe I should remove the serpentine belt, remove the compressor, remove the engine mounts, replace the engine mounts, remove then replace the transmission mount, then put in the new compressor, put in the new belt. Any guidance (forum links, video links) on taking this on is definitely appreciated.

Kudos to you for attacking this yourself - I would be on the phone with Eurosport (I am also in Phx).

Update: Parts have arrived, and I need guidance on the AC compressor removal. It appears I can unhook the front sway bar and have access to the three AC compressor mounting bolts (barely) and remove the compressor rearward. However, I do not see how I can access the high and low pressure hose bolts to the compressor. From below they're invisible, from above it looks like there is a lot of stuff in the way, no matter how many extenders I use. I've seen a video on a GL 550 and it looks like they come in from the driver's tirewell. Is there a recommended way of doing this? Pics attached. If anyone has a shop manual, or better yet, experience, that gives me the steps that would also be appreciated!

I have been told that for the motor mounts to be changed on my 2012 CLS 550 4Matic that the subframe will have to be lowered, I havent done them yet as I am waiting on the engine support cradle.
I do have a lift so it should be fairly easy but still.... subframe lowering is not something I am looking forward to.
Good luck with your project and keep us updated.

Hi, would you be able to send instructions for the engine mount removal. Curious to see what the manual says to do.

TIA

Thank you konigstiger! I know I'm being greedy, but I'm also looking to see if there's overlap -- do you have the procedure for the engine mounts as well?

Remove the bumper?!

Hello everyone, I have the new AC compressor in and the high and low pressure lines reconnected. Before I replace the serpentine belt, I thought I'd remove and replace the desicant cartridge, but it appears I have to remove the front bumper to change it? I must be wrong about this...here's a pic:

Desicant Cartridge for AC

The cartridge is (I believe) the large circular star torx blocked by the front bumper near the screwdriver -- is there a way to NOT remove the entire front bumper?

Access?

I actually now have access by loosening the top of the bumper and carefully prying the radiator inward. However, it appears I now need a proprietary Mercedes desiccant cartridge removal tool? Seriously?
