HK 7 Logic in CLS?

Do we have 7 logic Harmon Kardon suround sound in our CLS? Standard or option? How can I tell that we have it or not? I have euro DVD-in-motion comand and I do see that in the unit as a selection. I am not sure that the processor is in the car or not though.

Thanks in advance,
hlkc

its an option. look through the sound settings, and there is one called logic 7 surround i beleive. im assuming this is only available on HK L7 systems.
Better yet, look on your sticker.

Since you have the Premium Package, you have it. Its included in this package.

From MBUSA:
"2006 Packages
326 Premium Package
This Package includes Active Ventilated and Drive-Dynamic front seats with heating feature, multi-contour front seats, and a harman/kardon LOGIC7 digital surround sound system with an integrated single-feed in-dash 6-disc CD changer. The package is rounded off with a COMAND-DVD navigation system and power rear-window sunshade.

Not available with: Heated Front Seats, DVD COMAND Navigation, Factory Installed CD Changer"

adam76,

The problem is my comand is Euro DVD-in-motion one that I took it from my ex-E W211 which have logic 7 there. But my CLS does not have 7 logic as an option. So my question was is the Logic 7 processor is in the unit itself or is in the car? If is in the catr then I don't have it since my sticker does not have that. If it is in the unit, then yes I have that since I DO have that "Logic 7" in the selection.

Thanks,
hlkc

If so then I have it. The reason why I ask is when I play DVD and CD I am pretty sure that my ex-E sounds a lot better. I am one AV geeks too :-) in this case E ascoustic placement/treament is better than CLS for sure.

Thanks,
hlkc

i beleive there was a thread talking about this, is the processor on or off board?

i would search the forums, and try and find one of the Command Gurus' posts. There are a couple guys on here that really know these things inside and out.

Hope that helps.

Yap, I am disappointed too on the sound of this CLS logic 7. I am one audio geek too and this is not up to my standard.

What about for the non audiophile here that is half tone deaf from years of turbine engines and Metal? Just hoping it doesn't sound like those old paper GM speakers/stereos from the 70's that the 1st thing you did was replace them with "Hi-Tech" Jensen Triaxial's. Then you were the man. LOL

I am not too happy either. My old BMW 323 has a better sound coming out of the HK system, deeper bass too...

Hi to all,

My CLS arrived yesterday but it will take a bit over a week to finally drive it home (or somewhere else). MB here wants to do a PR stint with it here and who am I to deny them this.

I ordered the HK Logic7 too. I'm a bit of an audiofile. Not too much into thumping bass or ear-bleeding levels but more into tonal balance, imaging, etc.

How do you guys think the Logic7 fares in this areas?

Kind regards,

ACL

i think it pretty weak in the mid range, seems to be some gaps in freq. response IMO

Its weird that HK Logic 7 and Mark Levinson were made by the same company yet Mark Levinson sounds much much better. Its not that Logic 7 is way cheaper. Did you guys hear the new ML true 7.1 from GS430? Now thats what our sound system should sound like. If Lexus could only make their LF-S a reality.
