Anyone have Jerking problems going downhill?

Hello everyone I am new here and have a technical question.

My car is in the service dept. for a slight jerk in the transmission when travelling down hill without using either the brake or the accelerator, I dont know what is wrong but the car has been in the shop for 4 days now. Anyone else with this problem?

Recommend that you use the Search function on this topic. It is a much discussed problem in the W211 forum, especially with the 5 speed automatic transmission. Hope this helps. Good luck.

thats very strange then since the CLS and E have totally different trannys. the CLS has the new 7 speed, so the probs may or may not be unrelated...

Recieved the car back and noticed little to no jerking at all. Im waiting on a letter from the dealer regarding exactly what they replaced but i do remember them saying a control module had to be replaced and some steering sensor as well. It is however very good to have the car back.

The w211 utilizes the 7g transmission also. The 5 speed is used in the w211 amg models.

depends what model year you are talking about. e320 had 5 speed but now the new e350 has the 7 speed. 55 have the amg 5 speed and the 500s have the 7 speed

Most Mercedes owners don't have these problems because it's a lot easier to pick up women than if you were in a 98 Honda.

I have the same problem when the car is cold at about 15MPH it jerks downshifting. The dealer reprogramed the trany and it stopped for about two weeks, but now it's back. I also have the same problem when I start from a rolling start, the car jerks and changes gears a few times.

I would have them revisit both the ECU and transmission. Also, there is TSB P-B-27.60/53 MAR05 requiring that the transmission software to be optimized, updated to software 000-448-38-10. Not certain if this is what they did two weeks ago nevertheless I would check into it.

Haha, that's a funny comment considering I am a woman who had been dating my boyfriend for a year and a half Don't think I'm going to be too worried about picking up women :p
