Did u get it from Marshalls ? They seem to give some sort of discounts, where as other dealers wouldn't even take $1 off the price. Anyway what price did u pay for ur car ? its absolutely gorgeous. Also what options did u get?

Heres a couple of pics of the piano black, there not great so ill take some better ones tomorrow and post. I got the sunroof, the wood, protective undershield, and the wheel upgrade. Total price on the road was 158. Marshalls does seem a little more willing to negotiate but they still only gave 800 bucks off but did throw in floor mats, a couple of umbrellas, hats, street directory, champagne, and sent flowers to the wife the next day. Have been pretty happy with it and was worth the treck out there to secure a car.

Guys, did any salesperson make a remote mention to you of Deisgno here in the US? I feel that we being taken here. I don't think Designo is offered on this car at all in the USA. Please, let me know if anyone else has come across Designo options in North America.

Hi SydBenz, you must be Klaus's friend, I had already seen some of the pics Klaus posted over at VWvortex. Congrats on the new ride, its gorgeous!
My dad took delivery of his CLS two weeks ago, Cubanite was one of our favourite colours, but he ended up with a Silver one. Looking at your pics, Cubanite looks tops, better not tell him maybe he should have stuck with Cubanite Silver.
Love the piano black wood too, very classy IMO! Klaus listed yours has the "protective undershield" what is it? protection from road debri & rocks?
Also wondering if it is safe to have details & pics of your custom steering wheel posted online, especially with the recent car jackings in Sydney.

The protective unsershield is to protect against any debris on the road etc... The steering wheel modification was just a bit of fun, it wont be staying on the car, as you point out it would be a major safety risk. Just a crazy idea we had to kill some time. I personally think it looked ridiculous but was a good laugh. I always prefer totally stock cars.
Congrats on your CLS, its a hard decision between the two colours. I think it looks great in silver but i wanted somehting different. Black would have been my first choice but decided it wasnt worth the maintenance.

Haha good to hear its not going to be a permanent mod, and the vortex guys got so worked up over it . Are the stones really "real"? a jeweller was involved!?
Yeah black would be my top pick too, nice and stealthy. But with a black car already in the family, and knowing the dodgy washing the CLS will be subjected to, dad didnt even dare go there.
Hey saw in an old post of yours that you were quoted $750 for the Ipod Kit, which dealer is this, Marshalls? including installation? Im trying to get my sis to see if she can work out how to play mp3 burned onto DVDs, may not need the Ipod kit if she gets DVD working.

Mercedes all the way!
nice, nice, nice! i love that colour combination
today i sat in a Toyota Alphard - it (unsurprisingly) had "piano black" wood trim as well. absolutely horrid - looked like plastic. but the one on your CLS looks absolutely stunning! congrats indeed.

^UB^ The price was quoted by Marshalls and included installation. However, they are telling me they dont have the kits for the CLS yet. MB Australia was saying they would be released at the end of August so they expect them to be in Sydney in the next 2 weeks. I have spoken to Sandersons and MB Sydney and they quoted me prices excluding installation of 483 and 550 dollars. Not sure why there is a difference. They said that the install would be one hour and there rate is about 130 so it shouldnt cost more than 700 all up.
