Tough question
Well, this is my first post ever in this forum. I just got a ‘06 iridium Silver 350 CLS, Burgundy leather. Fully equipped( keyless go, heat/cooling seats, etc) except the AMG package.
Ever since I saw the 645Ci, I fell in love with it. I had no doubt that I would buy one sooner or later. I loved everything about it especially its 333 hp engine and its handling. I went to get one in May 05 for about $78K , fully loaded. I thought that was a great deal. Then I was told that the dealer was trying to sell all of his 645s coz the 650 was coming around the corner at the end of this year. I didn’t like the idea of buying a quit expensive car that would be superseded with a slightly more powerful engine and different options and rims. I changed my mind. I wanted to have the top of the line.
I couldn't wait till Dec 05 to get one so my second choice was CLS. Now after i bought it, I would never replace it with 650. If I could wind the clock back, I would put the 650 as a second choice. I just realized how great its to have a cls. I really can't describe how great this car is. Everytime I get in the car, I realize that it is worth every penny.
I have the following cars in my 'fleet'. 2002 S320, 04 Porsche Cayenne S, 03 Range Rover HSE, and 06 cls. I love the CLs more than anything else.
The 650ci 360hp engin rules but hey, look at the quality of the interior components. Nothing compared to the CLS. One thing i don't like about my CLS, it is an $82k V6. a six cylinder that is so expensive comparing with a V8 650ci BMW. I would definitely replace my CLS but with a CLS 55. I envy those who have the 55. By the way, here in Qatar,the CLS 55 runs for about $130K whereas in the US, I guess, I could get an AMG CLS 55 for about $90K. am i right?
