Greetings,
Just picked up a CLS 500 for the wife this past turkey day.
Rims - Color matched Asanti 3pc forged 20 x 9 / 20 x10 rims fitted with 255/30/20 and 295/25/20 Michelins. The color match was a little extra but well worth it. Can't tell in the pics, but they really compliment the Capri blue body which looks like a dark midnight blue in normal lighting but a deep purplish blue in bright sunlight. Overall pretty pleased with the look. The fat chrome lip looks gives it a pretty agressive look. Rims do MAKE the car.
Lowering- Had a Lorinser lowering kit installed. Dropped ~1.25 " which is still a bit too high for me. Will have it dropped ~1/2" more. Dealer wouldn't lower the car for me (Rusnak Arcadia).
Ride- a bit harder than stock, but suprisingly comfortable. Most noticeable is the tire/road noise, but still acceptable. Wife can't tell the difference, so it can't be too bad. If I could do it again, probably go with 35/30 series front/rear for a more "stock" ride.
Lighting- installed Phillips HIDs in the headlights and fog lights. On board computer didn't accept the HIDs. Later this week, I'm having the dealer re-program to accept the lower 35W draw. Will post pics. Darn, forgot to snap some before pics.
Next- light tint, smoked tail lights, and perhaps a MBK rear deck spoiler (still waiting for a price quote from Kronen...).
The "after" pic is also after a 4 hr weekend therapy / Zaino job. First time using it and it really does live up to the hype. Will get better pics of the glass finish in the sun after I get the lowered stance just right.
