TSB question

The stone chip protection film on the rear door, in front of the rear wheel, is turning yellow on my CLS. Has anyone else encounter this? There is a TSB on this to replace it, but I'm afraid that it might end up worse than it began with. Has anyone else got this changed? Also, if anyone have this TSB can they post it? Thanks

yes, its on the lower half of the rear door by the rear wheel. It comes with this from the factory and some people removed this, but later regret it.

Protection film

I pulled mine off at delivery and have picked up small chips not on the door but on the smaller section behind the door. I have 11,000 miles on the car.

I will be replacing the small section protection film, but not the door section.

I took my vehicle in today to get the new stone chip protector. It definitely looks a lot better; not yellow anymore. Hopefully, these will not fade and turn yellow in the future. Luckily I had the TSB (thanks konigstiger) because they were going to replace it with the original part number that they had in stock. After showing them the TSB they replaced it with the new part number.

Have not come across anything specific to MY08 or 09, parts #s listed are current, and replacement is covered under warranty if need be without question
